not true take on a bad contract of kenny thomas.

also mr. carl i know you cannot be serious of giving tmac up for ron artest your line up that would start would include battier and artest plus hayes and alston you think we are in trouble now you put that on the court and you will see trouble. that is why i say give up battier james and snyder for artest plus kenny thomas. kenny has 2 years left on his bad contract after this year just 1 more than mike james plus you do not loose in giving up battier because you plug in artest there which actually is a plus you ask me

    I'm serious.

Like it or not, the Rockets are a team of grinders. Battier and Hayes are supremo grinders. Yao Ming is a grinder, too-- with all his skills and 87% FT shooting, the guy is good because he's 7'6'', 310lbs and very happy to bang guys night in and night out. Even the guys who don't neccesarily have the bodies to grind (Rafer) have thrived in a grinding game.

Tracy does not bang, grind, or consistently defend. Artest does.

    Carl,

Are you serious about liking Artest's offense? I thought that letting Artest ruin the ball-movement on the Kings was a big contributing reason for getting Adelman canned. He may be a Warrier, but Artest is also a Tru Black Hole. He makes Bonzi look like a great teammate in comparison.

Artest's offense is ugly looking, but effective. He doesn't have the smooth handles of McGrady or silky jumper of Ray Allen or the quickness of Wade, but he has a nice power-based game and does a good job. I remember last season he scored quite well agaisnt both McGrady and Battier, who simply did not have the strength to contain Artest. He is an effective offensive player.

Also, I don't think Artest ruined Kings offense. In fact, that team was looking pretty mediocre up to the time he arrived-- and they were better on both ends of the floor.

No, they didn't run the same motion-based offense with him on there, but they still got plenty of easy baskets and they were in fact scoring better with Artest than without, and they still got plenty of assisted baskets (60% of baskets assisted with him on the floor). See below:

    http://www.82games.com/0506/05SAC9D.HTM

Adelman wasn't fired because of Artest supposedly runing the offense, he got fired for reasons similar to JVG's firing:

    1. He didn't get along with the owners any more-- reports say he wasn't never big on politicking with the Maloofs and they were not even speaking directly to each other by the end of that season.

    2. The owners had "grass is greener on the other side" syndrome-- blamed coach for lack of playoff success and thought they could do better.

I won't deny that Artest is a flake. But frankly, so is TMac. But Artest is one of the rare excellent two-way players in the league. So, IF TMac doesn't work out, I would take a shot at getting Artest to salvage the season.

Perfect, let's try and build an all-defensive team for an offensive minded coach. This idea would make more sense if we were still in Gundy mode and if Artest brought as much to the team as Tmac does.

No matter if I don't agree with this because Ron has some really bad issues, but I think Shane Battier is more defensive minded than Ron Artest is.

Ron was hell of defensive player, I can't remember now his last good game.

I 100% agree but since we r adding Tru wurier. We should trade Yao Ming for Stephon Marbury and Zach Randolph. Then we can sign Dennis Rodman and resign Vernon Maxwell. Then we can fire RA and Hire Bob Knight as our head coach. We would have a lineup that every team would fear

    Starting Lineup
    Starbury
    Maxwell
    Tru Wurier
    Rodman
    Randolph
    :D

if you get a Rodman and a Maxwell in their prime with Yao, that's no contest. we'd win the championship. Clutch 3s and Clutch rebounding.

We would then nominate a newbie to be Tru Warier's punching bag. To keep him focused on his on-court performance

I can think of another team that did something like that.

    <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/h0f1EsUVCIU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/h0f1EsUVCIU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

(Yeah, I just wanted an excuse to post that video.)

Did you notice how big strong and sturdy Oakley's glutes are? Chuck Hayes has that kind of glutes. Tru Warier also has that kind of glutes.

We need more guys like that.

Lets not forget that if Tru Warrior wants to continue his hip-hop career, Houston is a good place to be. He'll be welcomed with open arms and grills.
