Nitro! I've been seeing you around a lot lately. A very slippery post by you, my friend. The team that won 50+ games had a different coach, no Wells, no Brooks, no Scola. T-Mac does not play like Kobe. He misses way more games (22% as a Rocket). T-Mac and Yao have not won 3 rings. On the Rockets, T-Mac and Yao do not both get 20 shots like Kobe and Shaq. Yao averages 16 over is career. Kobe and Shaq said bye bye, DESPITE the rings.
Frankly I'm hoping that T-Mac can be productive on less than 20 shots a game. If he's getting the ball later in the shot clock and getting more open looks there's no reason why his efficiency can't go up. Hopefully his assists too. Adelman's offense relies on unselfish play. If somebody gets doubled then the majority of the time the result should be a pass out to find the open shooter.
we're not going to get the same intensity with tmac on the court. his offense is a snail-lazy-slow motion offense.
Think Logically plz. Last year: who is the coach and how long 'That Team' had been working together? In addition, Not better? I doubt that.
Well, considering the year before T-Mac and Yao both went out for significant times with injuries, that team didn't work together as much as you think. Yeah, JVG was the coach but what does that matter? Isn't Slick Rick suppose to be better? I don't even understand what you are trying to say with that post.
Why not use this Mr. 20M as a role player? Let him to show off by finishing the game in 4Q. I have followed each and every game Mr. 20M played since he joined Rocket. All loses and wins followed the same patterns: 1. TMAC was hot in first half->the defender changed strategy->TMAC showed off by repeatedly jumping shoot-> Rocket lost, that is the typical way of "wasting great lead in last 5 minutes". 2. TMAC was cold in first half->the opponent had a big lead ->TMAC quited.
Right now there is no trade we can make that will make us better than simply adding T-mac back to the starting line-up. Is 100% guarantee that we'll be a better team when T-mac returns? Yes.
Trade T-Mac while his value is still somewhat high before it's too late. This 'duo' is just not going to work out and it never really did (only a few times when they both played well in a game, most of the time it's only 1 player doing real well). This is not the Shaq Kobe duo that won titles, it is completely different and they're simply not good enough. So simply trade one of them, preferably T-Mac because there's still some hope for Yao, who at least wants to win and doesn't fake injuries.
I guess before garnett played with cassell and sprewell he was a cancer? I mean before those two, he didn't make it out the 1st rd. In fact he's only been out once. missed the playoffs every yr after that. I don't knoe why o even respond sometime. did I also hear jamaal crawford? well, he's never been in the playoffs his entire career. nevermind
Ok, let me explain. 'That team played better ' has a significant reason that JVG is the coach and he had been coaching that team for 4 years, and every one is SUPPOSED to be very familar with JVG's System, and was playing great on defense. This team is not as good as people expected. Yeah, we have Rick, but Rick's system is quite different from JVG's. Apparently, our DUO is not that quick to fit in. We have a big changed roster. We evev lost to Griz in the beginning of the season, 76ers and Raptors in a roll. So I will be really careful to say we are supposed to beat 'Knicks, Griz, Raports' cause we just arent that good. A different coach does matter in every angle. Supposed to be better, Yeah, I agree by giving enought time to him. And I m sure we are looking at it now. agreed. With healthy T-mac and Yao, second round i hope.
Completely missing my point. You asked how will they insert in T-Mac's 20+ FGA into the current team, and who will they take away from. My point is that the Rockets won 50+ games with T-Mac taking 20+ shots, and it can and will be done again (they probably won't win 50+ games due to slow start, but they will be successful). Then I brought the Lakers, a team that had a lot of overall talent and also ran a motion offense in the triangle yet had 2 players at or over 20+ FGA per game, into the mix to show that a team can be successful with players as ball dominant as Yao and Mac. Kobe and Shaq parted ways largely because of Shaq's contract demands not fitting in the Lakers future, not so much because they feuded over who took more shots and whatnot.
The answer is, we cannot expect T-mac to be the leader, nor Yao... Every team has leaders, but our team lacks any.
agreee. But I still worry about his jump percent. Look at our lose, most time is because he has an off night and still take too many shots. Don't let him handle the ball too much, let AB and Rafer handle it. He can do dunk/allyoop, catch and shot,.. but all this need him run run run.... I don't has this confidence for him to run hard. Shoot the FT over 80%. this will show his heart. Run run run on O and D. this will show his heart. Hits more end q last shots, this will show his heart. No more "hurt" when we behind big. this will show his heart. Can you do that 35s again? Cause from that time I became a fan of him and I want to be his fan again.
Two thoughts. 1. Head can't shine with or without T-Mac because he sucks. 2. T-Mac is a great player and our best player. Our record over the last four seasons with and without him speaks for itself. I fully agree that T-Mac needs to adjust his play within this offense in order for us to take full advantage of his abilities without compromising other players' contributions. I also fully believe he has the capacity to do that. He has proven to me that he can be as unselfish as any other superstar in this league. I think the probelm is that after playing under JVG for a few years, he became used to dominating the ball along with Yao. Without T-Mac, or an equivalent talent, this team will go nowhere. Given the chance to make some adjustments, Tracy can make this team far better that it is without him, no matter how good people think they have been playing recently.
is that the same bad attitude that he's showing when he's on the sidelines cheering his teammates on, especially for rafer and aaron brooks?
And without him taking that many shots they wouldn't have had the 2 most successful seasons that the franchise has had in 10 years.
His health will only get worth or give you more uncertainty as time goes. The more we wait, the less his trading value is. He is like chicken ribs: Not much meat on it and not much taste, but it would be a waste if you just throw it away.
Wow. I've got to say you really made my eye brows raise. Can I ask you something, where did you accumulate your basketball knowledge from?
