The key to the making the playoffs, and possible advancing in it, is Chuck Hayes. The Rockets lose one of the finest offensive big man, but will put an elite defender back in to rotation. They can still win 50 games this season, and even possibly advance in the playoffs. Chuck will carry the team there.
Ugh...no.... It is no coincidence that the current run started when Chuck's butt got permanantly glued to the pine. DD
The Rockets have to replace Yao's point production, so Hayes is not the answer, unless the question is...Who should not replace Yao in the starting lineup. Lets get Landry 35 minutes a game for the rest of the homestand and see what he can do!
HAHAHA.....this is the post of the freagin day....hahaa....I was initially going to post something in this thread, but decided not to, because I didn't even want to be cruel to the guy that started it, but this....this is funny right here.
Sure, Chuck will give the Rockets another scorer and probably 15 pts 8 rebounds per game. Dont forget Chuck has the highest +/- stat. We may even win the championship with Chuck move to center.
if we would've replaced Dream with Earl Cureton in '94 and Charles Jones in '95 we would've still won 2 titles........
I think the long-term plan for the remainder of the season should be to start Chuck Hayes and Luis Scola at the 4/5. The Rockets would be an even more active defensive team out there, with Scola filling the role of a watered-down Yao Ming. Carl Landry is too foul-prone to start at this point. Also, we need his production off the bench with the second unit, especially so that he can get some plays called for him in the post.
Stop it, dude can score inside 2 ft of the bucket and can't shoot FOUL shots that are really foul. Notice - Win Streak and Chuck are polar opposites. As soon as he sat down the wins went up. Why, we where playing 5 on 5 basketball on the offensive end.
That, I believe, is quite possibly the nicest thing I have read about Chuck here in months. He may not be the answer to replacing Yao, because really no one can replace Yao, but you at least know that he's going to give everything he has on the court. Everyone is going to have to step up. Just like they did when Tmac was out.
