Yep. Reading and getting to the ball is the most important thing we need to see and Altuve seems to have that down. Catching them is just a matter of reps with him. He has high baseball IQ other than his base running. LOL

I think Altive needs a new glove. The one he is using looks too big for him.

So, Altuve bungled his big throw home first attempt? I give the throw a 0. ;)

I understood the Altuve to LF if we got Bregman or Arenado. We should be trying to get Dicenzo and Smith in the lineup. It no longer makes sense to put Altuve in LF, unless you are moving Cam to 3b and Paredes to second.

It makes all the sense in the world and no matter how many people post that it doesn't, the change is done.

Altuve is no longer a 2b.

    Thank goodness!!!!

Taking away the shift killed any chance of Altuve being even mediocre at the position.

Ideally he should be a DH, but Yordan needs to be there also.

I don't wish injury on anyone, but if Mookie Betts did something to keep him from playing in the field Mandred would jump to find a way to add a 2nd DH

    Altuve DH
    Walker 3B
    Yordan 1B
    Diaz C
    Smith RF
    Paredes LF
    Pena SS
    Meyers CF
    Matthews 2B

    It's so simple.

    Pray for popups

I really wish Yordan could play first. He just can’t bend with his lower body being problematic.

Is Yordan going to be a DH only? I don't get why he can't play left field. Is Altuve better in the outfield?

    Health reasons.

    Remains to be seen.

He also has a 10" iron skillet for a glove when it comes to ground balls and such

We don't need him bending over for anything. He needs to stay upright and hit balls

Right, this is why he's not a 1B

Hypothetical question... if Altuve's 2020 ALCS yips continued... would we have seen in LF much earlier...?

When we see Altuve running to the outfield on opening day.

This aligns almost exactly with what I commented earlier this week on what the play is/should be for Altuve:
2B when flyball pitchers are on the mound
LF when groundball pitchers are on the mound
    DH whenever Yordan sits

50-50-30, with frequent late-game substitutions and getting Altuve late-game pinch hitting opportunities is the way to:

Keep Altuve in the lineup “every” day
    Keep Altuve healthy and fresh
Hide him defensively as his skills diminish with age
