should have gone to sengun...hes miles better than giddey and its not even close..... stone..... stone.... youre messing this one up
I want sengun to be the point center for the second unit tbh silas is slooooow with adjustments in general though.
LOL First you complain House was playing next to Sengun and say Brooks should play more. I would give all of House's minutes to Brooks and Martin. Even Christopher was better. House singlehandedly wasted at least 6 possessions. His only basket was a nice feed under the hoop from Sengun. Except it turns out Brooks was out there too and basically played 20 out of 24 second half minutes anyway, so that's obviously not a good suggestion. Then you drop Brooks and say Martin played only 18 minutes. I'd play him and Christopher more in a shorthanded game. Except - it turns out they were already on the court during this period of House-Sengun as well. Then you just suggest "staggering" a shorthanded team because it's better based on .....? what? I mean the Rockets did techincally stagger their substituions it's not like they put in 5 guys and take out 5 guys like Paul Westhead used to do . They brought back 3 guys at 9 minutes, are you saying that you've worked out the optimal sub point and it would have been? Based on what exactly? For example they could have put in Theis in that 3rd period for House or Sengun alongside Martin and Christopher - is this the move you wanted them to make? Why would this have been better? Sure, I mean, maybe in some branch of the wave function, there's a hyper-optimized pattern that would have worked out marginally better than the one that worked out well last night, but you do know the Rockets won the game last night, particularly because their closing crew drastically outplayed the THunder's closing crew? I didn't need a box score to tell you that either. As Herman Edwards once said, they played to win the game, and...they won. Why is this the hill you want to die on? Finally, with respect to magic minute math divorced from the reality of the game that actually happened where you try to divide up everybody's minutes allocation by X. ~ I have nothing more to say about this. It reminds me of back in the old days when peopel used to post long breakdowns of exactly why Bonzi Wells should get 13.2 minutes a game and Steve Novak should get 9.3 as part of Van Gundy's everyday 12 man rotation.
OKC fan quote from last night about Sengun: "Once again Alperen sengun showed that he is a great talent in limited minutes.. Trading him was a wrong decision. OKC missed a generational talent..."
Rockets screwing Sengun over. The hilarious part is that the Rockets cant even make the excuse that they are a contending team and cant afford to risk minutes on a rookie. They are awful and still cant get him more minutes lol
Don't know why you make it so complicated. 1. I was asking the question, why House was playing so much. (I specifically said that I wasn't complaining about Sengun's minutes.) 2. You said it was because we were shorthanded. 3. I showed that we had enough players better than House to share the 1-3 spots even with all the injuries. So your shorthandedness excuse didn't work. 4. You gave a bunch of irrelevant details of the in-game substitutions. These details are irrelevant because the whole substitution pattern would have been very different if House wasn't in the rotation. I actually like Silas and hope he does well. About the issue on hand, I would give him the benefit of the doubt that the injuries were not anticipated so he had to scramble on the spot. House has been playing poorly the whole season except for one game. He was clearly playing very bad again last night. He should have been pulled. We barely beat a weak team because the other guys did well enough. /non-Sengun discussion in a Sengun thread
This is not what happened - you said the Sengun House pairing was the problem and suggested a number of potential subs for House - except they were all already in the game at the same time. Oops, then you pivoted to whatever it is you're doing Grow up & take the L. All of us dopes are just second guessing nonsense tactical garbage with no context for a lottery team. Who cares? This is just AM radio discourse
Every time he touched the ball something positive happened tonight. I credit Silas for sticking with him and playing him with CWood for a few minutes but yeah, that didn't work. Rockets need to trade Wood to give Sengun full reign of this offense. He's seriously that good.
That didn't work because the guards suddenly decided not to pass them the ball and take early shots instead.
Sengun only had one foul and one turnover with a productive night. That is what I'm talking about, good job Gun.
Sengun is such a talented player, the fakes, hesi moves, no looks, hustle, etc are just so much fun to watch. But then he does all of the little things so well, even drew a charge tonight. Glad he saw some time with Wood, but we should have played him in the high post and let him keep doing his thing. Hell, bet he could run PnR with CW.
