    No talk about going for it this year. No positive talk about retaining Dipo, Tucker, Gordan or any other veteran that helps us this year. Take this pledge “I’m am only interested in acquiring future assets. Any talk of competing this year is off limits.

    I’m of the opinion that winning now should be focused on the preservation and growth of assets, and not as an end of itself.

    If we believe keeping Oladipo (even if he walks in free agency) sets us up as a destination for free agents and pumps up the perceived value of Wood and Tate, and that that is a better return than actually dealing Oladipo himself, then keep him.

    Based on what I’ve seen so far, I see no reason why we should keep Oladipo or Tucker past the trade deadline. At best keeping them we finish as the 4th seed, and at worst without them we are a play in team. Either way, we aren’t tanking.

    One point to make...we should try as best as possible to get draft picks in 2022 or beyond. Unless they are great picks, I think they are more valuable as future assets than players, and since we aren’t contending anytime soon, we should push our draft capital as far out as possible.
