Luther Head should not even be mentioned in the same sentence with AB or KL. I remember last year against Utah in the Playoffs Luther couldn't even bring the ball up the court without getting a turnover or a jump ball. Thank God they let him go. he could not pass or create a shot. Ab and KL wow what a great 1 - 2 punch. I really like Rafer but this two headed monster of KL and AB have potential.
Brooks does have a problem with TC's what what problem (something TMAC said). His away performance are like this: Brooks needs to beat TC.
You know, I feel like normally I'd have an opinion on something like this one way or the other. But really, I don't think it matters either way. Lowry will get you a little more defense, a little more passing, a few more trips to the charity stripe. Brooks will get you not just scoring/shooting, but the threat to score, which is very important. Every team in the league now knows to respect Brooks as a scorer, and the benefits of that aren't easily measured. With either guy you're going to get some benefits. In terms of how much each benefits us when they're on the floor, I honestly believe they're about equal at the moment.
The performance in this playoffs will decide who will be our starting pg. So far, none of them has really proved himself.
The Ben Gordon comparision is spot on. Lowry is a far more qualified pg than Araon Brooks will ever be. Hopefully he gets the chance to start next season but knowing RA, that probably wont happen.
I wouldn't exactly call AB a "Lights out" 3pt shooter. When he's on, he's on...but he has some cold shooting nights too. GREAT game last night by AB.
Brooks is a score guard, and Lowry is a pure point guard. You should use Brooks more when you play the Suns without much defensive efforts, but when you play the j*zz flop, then you need Lowry to execute each play correctly. For a long run, I still like Lowry a starter, and Brooks comes off the bench.
As that person said. Aaron Brooks needs to come off the bench to fill in the scoring. He's not a player who is able to set up an offense. Kyle Lowry has much higher IQ than Aaron Brooks as well, He's not as turnover prone either. Aaron Brooks would be more like Nate Robinson if you ask me. Both of them are scorers, but the thing is Nate comes off the bench. I believe Aaron should too. AB is a hell of a player, but him coming off the bench might be the best for the Rockets.
The 2nd unit is made up of finishers. Having Brooks come off the bench would kill Landry and Wafer's effectiveness. They need somebody to get them the ball and that man is Lowry. Lowry needs to stay with the 2nd unit.
To me, there really isn't enough to say Lowry is the better Point Guard. He has more experience but much like Brooks, all his upside comes from limited time off the bench. Time will tell who is the better player, but right now, I don't see much of a difference.
Sadly, its true Brooks can't set up landry or wafer well at all. Lowry is starting material but has to man the bench because brooks can't do it. At least in the starting lineup, our offense goes through yao.
Actually Yao's FG percentage is much higher when Lowry on the floor in the past few games. And he recieves ball more when Lowry is running the show.
Sometimes I think Lowry should start because of his better passing, or his willingness to pass the ball. Since Aaron can score a lot more, he would be better off coming off the bench as a scoring plug. But at the end of the games, I would definitely put Brooks instead of Lowry, I would rather have a shooter out there than a PG trying to force it to Yao.
Head was actually pretty quick to the rim, like I said, with room. I think opinions are already beginning to shift about Brooks and its just gonna take one major playoff collapse for him to lose favor with clutchfans.
