    Lavine isn't a free agent.

He has 3 years and a 4th as a player option remaining on his deal.

    $40,064,220
    $43,031,940
    $45,999,660
    $48,967,380

Brooklyn would have to cobble together $32m in outgoing salary to make the money work and that pushes them up against the first apron almost instantly with a lot of roster work to do.

More importantly - with Lavine under contract with Chicago - what are the Nets sending them as compensation? The Philly / PHX future picks that are expected to be late in the draft?

Does Chicago want some combination of Simmons(No), Joe Harris, Dorian Finney-Smith, or Dinwiddie on their books!???

Chicago would have to be in burn it down mode with no other options to make that deal.

If the Rockets completely suck again (I fully believe they will win 35+ games) the basketball gods will make sure we get a top 3 pick and OKC will be SOL.

I hope we can have an OKC-like season, but lose in the play-in and then win the lottery. :p

Dream big if Rockets don't make the playoffs. Win twice in the lottery in 2024.

How do we get to pick the nets pick in this scenario?

im not sure what youre asking. The rockets though get the nets pick regardless. the rockets would also keep their pick next season if somehow it fell into the top 4.

There was some poster here insisting the Nets would get better return on their PHX picks than the Rox would get from the Nets. Forgot the dude but I'd like his take now lmao.

Realistically who would even be on that team if they traded for Dame?

I think no matter what that Brooklyn is a lottery team next year.

Philly, Brooklyn and Heat are the big players. Heat has the worst package. Philly and Brooklyn can offer a lot. Philly can offer Maxey and the haul they get for Harden, Brooklyn can offer picks but they don’t have a young stud like Maxey they can trade.

but if Dame wants Miami that’s where he’s going. They will need a 3rd team cause Miami doesn’t have enough to compensate Portland fairly.

Probably so but then East is weak and the wrong injury and a decent will tank. But if I'm betting I'm taking Nets around 8-11 range. Maybe the ping pong does a little dance for us.

I don’t think they’ll have to include Jovic. Blazers have 0 leverage.
