The Yankees gave up a lot. They will play almost no defense and and have almost no pitching other than Cole. I guess they are probably going all in for the Japanese kid.
Carlyle Group Inc. co-founder David Rubenstein is in talks to acquire Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Rubenstein is among suitors pursuing a transaction, said one of the people, all of whom requested anonymity discussing confidential information. Nothing has been finalized and talks may still fall apart, the people said. Representatives for the Orioles didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. A spokesman for Rubenstein declined to comment. Trial lawyer Peter Angelos, 94, is the team’s majority owner. Rubenstein, 74, was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He has a net worth of $4.6 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He also hosts a show on Bloomberg Television.
The Japanese kid is special. The only question is health. I wish he would entertain coming to Houston because I would be totally cool with the Stros giving him a 250 million dollar contract.
Which Japanese player are yall talking about? There are several "kids" from Japan who are about to get signed.
Or you could just use their ****ing name Which was my point, because I have no idea who you are talking about
They're linked to Yamamoto and they seem pretty confident that they can land him. Other teams interested including the Mets. Perhaps Mets will offer way more to secure him. I also wonder if Dodgers can't land Ohtani, they'll go all in on him as well since they're interested.
I just can’t believe Ohtani is going anywhere but the dodgers. It will be mlbs wet dream to have a dodgers Yankees World Series with judge, Soto, and ohtani.
Especially if Yamamoto goes to the Yankees also. I always thought it was a forgone conclusion, he would be a Dodger. Ohtani doesn't seem the type to change a lot and would still be an Angel if they didn't suck. By going to the Dodgers, he only has to change his commute in the morning and go to the most successful regular season team over the past decade. I hate to say it but the Dodgers are by far the best run big market team.
I mean there really isn’t any reason the dodgers get both of them. They have unlimited amounts of money to spend along with the Yankees.
Ohtani is the biggest cash cow mlb has ever seen. Ain’t no way he doesn’t got to the Yankees or dodgers. Toronto fans are being cucked lol
Unfortunately there really isn't a reason why they can't sign both other than Yamamoto deciding what's best for him. At least they will be in the NL. That being said, 75-80 million a year across two players causes issues in team building if one of those guys gets hurt. Ohtani is on his second serious elbow surgery. The Angels had Ohtani on a rookie contract and the best offensive player of this generation with tons of money to spend and we saw where that got them.
