Angels or Seattle new Manager in '24....? #NewHomeJDustyB edit: Go... PLEASE... tell them you want your swan song to be a team that "JUST COULDNT GET OVER THE EDGE" and that you turned everything around... from resting Shohei on his days when he's scheduled to pitch and variably playing Mike T in a "every-few-days-in-outfield" position & "maybe-he'll-DH" role. Or... maybe since you cvck for JuRo-- play that MF everyday like you do Bregman/Tucker (btw those guys deserve it-- along w Alvarez, Dubon, Pena, McCormick, Altuve, Brantley).... (yeah Im staying out of the Diaz/Mal-duhhhh-Nada argument)... but youve got a guy that youd run out there 161/162 games of the season... we'll pat you on the back and wish you the best of luck as you travel out west.... You know, they deserve a turn-around & to win-- show the rest of the Houston fanbase how much we're supposed to be indebted and grateful beyond imagination for your analytically driven, guys-who-produce-up-front mentality. ...and we'll be thanking you that we rock your hitters and fanbase next year as well. But, we'll thank you....
Chills, man. Chills in the best possible way. Baseball is such an amazingly cinematic sport and Hollywood has really done it well over the years. Makes me want to sit down and watch The Natural.
@Nook Any idea if Astros have interest and is it serious or more of a we'll just take a look? Crane willing to spend $70 million?? Interesting that's he's a starter for Cuba and was early in his NPB career but got better when he went to the bullpen. I'm guessing teams will look at him as a starter due to his potential price tag.
Dunno if its really an 'i told you so' moment given the IL manipulation stuff, but Billy Eppler resigning from the Mets suggests once again that bringing in a POBO over a current GM is unlikely to work. This addresses everyone that wanted to bring in a POBO over Dana Brown. Eppler said straight up he wanted to give Stearns a clean slate, which is what any top decisioner would want. The person being superceded prolly doesn't want to give up that autonomy either. It's a little weird though in these situations with Crane and Cohen though. Many people say the owners were acting as the functional POBO's.
That’s amazing. This is unquestionably one of the top 3 runs in baseball history. Better than the A’s in the 70s or 80s. Better than the Giants who won 3 WS in 5 years. Better than the Big Red Machine and better than the 70s Orioles and better than the Pujols Cardinals. They’re chasing the 90s Braves and the 96-04 Yanks. Aside from those 2, the 2017-2023 Astros is inarguably the greatest stretch run in baseball history. One more ring and maybe one more ALCS and it’s probably the best ever.
Astros are currently WS favorites. Houston Astros+190 Philadelphia Phillies+260 Texas Rangers+290 Arizona Diamondbacks+420 Atlanta Braves+750
Just talked to a retired asst. fire chief from Toledo, OH... apparently Tiger fans are pro-Astros because of Verlander. So not everybody hates us.
