OH **** https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/...ouston-astros-sign-stealing-scandal-film-pbs/ SPORTS Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal subject of new Frontline film “The Astros Edge: Triumph and Scandal in Major League Baseball,” premieres Oct. 3 on PBS. The report will feature “Astroball” author Ben Reiter and examine how the team and its cheating scandal has changed the sport. [...] In a promotional email about the forthcoming release of "The Astros Edge," Frontline described it as "the making of one of the best teams and worst scandals in modern MLB history, the limited accountability and how Astros baseball changed the sport."
Considering Ken Burns epic Baseball documentary was on PBS... but maybe they rake the Red Sox over the coals as well
The only reason that channel still exists is through Sesame Street. Kids, wackos and poor people watch that station only
Frontline has been the best longform investigative journalism on tv for a long, long time. It is based out of PBS Boston though I don't care at all about this story anymore, but I'll watch this because a) it's Frontline and b) it will have highlights of the 2017 World Champion Houston Astros
On the one hand, with Cohen’s financial resources and Stearns’ GM prowess, the Mets should be badass in short order. On the other, the Braves are gonna be hard for them to consistently beat.
DANGIT. I really wanted Stearns back. I'd be curious to get @Nooks take or other insiders on why he chose the Mets, who else the Astros may be looking at, and if we are confident in our moneyball analytics team going forward. I know the Astros have lost a lot of good front office folks (to the Orioles, SF for example) and I was hoping we'd be able to lure someone back from the Luhnow era to keep this Golden Era going. Not saying we don't have the right mix now, but there has been a lot of turnover so...
It's pretty obvious, Stearns is a New Yorker, probably got paid a **** ton by Cohen, got unlimited financial resources, and Cohen probably agreed to stay out of the way as long as Stearns is winning. It's almost the perfect opportunity for him. He probably spoke to us out of personal courtesy based on history.
