Like I said, it was a tough/demanding job. He worked with the school to make sure he could get all of his school work done. He didn’t sleep a ton. He did have off-days when the Astros would play afternoon games (I believe he would work weekend games, though). The school realized it was a unique opportunity, so they worked with him. He graduated with honors—bright fellow. Keep in mind, this wasn’t an issue every day throughout the school year…but it would come up when school started last week of August and September, and again in April/May, though the last month was finals month anyways.
I hate the Eastcoast Sports and Politics Network. I never watch it, though others will quote it like scripture.
Cole gets a ridiculous amount of shine for being on the Yankees, it’s insane to have him ranked ahead of Alcantara after last 2 seasons
Almost time for the latest version of the greatest run Houston pro sports has ever known to take the field. Long, sustained success is difficult to maintain. After 6 straight ALCS appearances, 4 World Series in 6 years with (2) titles including (2) straight World Series appearances, can The Astros maintain the level of hunger, consistency, and sustained excellence for yet another season? Can they overcome the departure of a 2-time Cy Young Award winner with the franchise? Can’t wait to find out
For those that don't get AppleTV free, there's always been a monthly subscription fee like Netflix. Last year anyone without a subscription could watch their MLB games without signing up for a monthly subscription. This year you have to be a subscriber.
It'll be interesting to see how the bullpen does this year when I'm expecting them to have to pitch a lot more innings. It's mostly a bunch of 1inning guys with the exception of Martinez and occasionally Abreu.
Yeah, I was a little surprised they had our lineup so high, but equally surprised they had our rotation so low.
If Diaz can come in and hit like Carlos Santana did this lineup will be crazy. However Diaz can play C, 1B, LF, DH. Once Brantley is healthy the team will play him at least 3/4 of the time so each position has a player who will keep him on the bench most of the time. Santana's 2010 and 2011 2010= 192 PA 19 extra base hits and .868 OPS (143 OPS+) 2011= 658 PA 64 extra base hits and .808 OPS (126 OPS+)
My feeling is that the team is resigned to losing Tucker after 2025. They see Dirden as a guy who could be a starting OF to replace him. Delaying his debut keeps him in Houston -2029 instead of 2028. Dirden needs to play everyday and Brown said he has specifics to work on in the batters box. Julks is a better fit as the 5th OF because of this. And Julks can play 3B/2B in an emergency since the team only has 5 infielders.
