    Maybe, Maybe not.

Left hand bats may become gold without the shift. Part of the reason Astros have strong interest in left hand corner outfielders (I’d say Benentendi, Brantley, Happ are in the mix and they even checked in on Bellinger)

Is that Twitter account legit ? His # is “molester” - this feels like a Simpson joke where Bart calls Mo’s Tavern asks if there is a Lester, Mo !
Maybe he’s real but that made me chuckle

I don’t necessarily disagree if we are looking at him solely as a CF, I think his defense would be pretty good playing LF though, and gives you another option in CF on days Chas sits (every time we play a LHP )

I don't know if your 3/40 was a report you've seen or your best guess, but if Eflin gets 3 years, $40MM then that Montero contract is looking better and better.

The Orioles are in agreement with first baseman/outfielder Franchy Cordero, reports Robert Murray of FanSided. It will be a one-year split contract that will pay Cordero $1.35MM in the majors and $450K in the minors.

The interesting thing about this report is it confirms the split contract is still in effect. It may be a useful tool to lock up Brantley before his recovery is assured. If he needs more recovery time, he can stay in the minors or play in the Majors if he appears he has recovered.

I'm not sure how high they can go with a split contract though.

Well, they are spending a lot.
Not sure how many wins this buys them.
    No worries here.
But I would have liked it better if he had landed in a different division though.

That’s a lot of cheddar for a pitcher in his mid 30s with 2 seasons riddled with injury. Lotta downside for the Rangers. They’d be a real threat to Houston…if they also sign Judge and 3 relievers.

I have to think Cohen turns to JV now to replace DeGrom. Even the offer feels similar.

    https://theathletic.com/3965600/2022/12/03/judge-free-agent-contract-offers/

The way the free-agent market for Aaron Judge is developing, it appears increasingly likely the winning bid will be for nine guaranteed years, sources involved in the negotiations say.

A nine-year deal for Judge, who turns 31 on April 26, would take him through his Age 39 season. The Yankees might need to decide if they are comfortable offering that long a contract to retain their star outfielder. Judge, in turn, might face a decision about whether he wants to leave the Yankees for one extra guaranteed year.

The Giants are known to be pursuing Judge, hosting him for a visit shortly before Thanksgiving. The Dodgers are believed to want Judge only on a short-term, high-dollar deal. The market for Judge also includes other clubs, sources say. The identity of those teams, and the extent to which they are in the mix, is not known.
