16th or 17th makes no difference to me, so I’m honestly rooting for what I want as a fan of the game in general which is Trae Young in the playoffs…wouldn’t mind the Hornets in 8th either just to see how Lamelo does in his 1st playoff series
I'm grateful that the pick is about ten spots higher than I expected it to be from that start of the season. That seems like lightning in a bottle though as Kyrie will be eligible to play almost all games going forward and Simmons will eventually return. KD is also having the best post-Achilles-tear career in NBA history. I hope they'll eventually convey a top pick to us but something will need to drastically change.
KD is going to show signs of age at some point. Kyrie as well if he stays. I expect the 2026 and 2027 picks to be nice picks
I’m kinda conflicted on this matchup…I’d like to see Boston win in 6 to put a cap on BK’s failure of a season, but I also wouldn’t mind BK winning so we get Milwaukee-BK round 2 Boston in 6 is appealing more to my wanting to see chaos in Brooklyn side, and BK winning appeals more to my fan of the game side
I really hope we trade up. Based on the Tankathon mocks, the list of players I am interested in ends right at 16. Unless someone unexpectedly falls, I think I will be disappointed in our 17th pick.
Things will change. The thing that changes, or really what will cause the change is time. Durant will always be asked to play a ton of minutes because they have 3 max players and crap depth in the team. Making the chance for injury rise exponentially. This was the perfect year to not have a top 5 record. Next year it won’t matter because the swap will not convey. The year after that who knows. Durant could be a shell of himself by then (because he is basketball god) and be maybe a top 40-50 oft injured player. I bet the pick is swapped in 2025/2027 with rockets having a better record. I also would bet two of the picks will be top 10 giving the rockets core talented youth. I just hope the Rockets don’t trade the picks. Having the team you like a lot do well while you can potentially watch another team do bad and give you their picks sounds fun. Especially since it was a one year rental lol
He’d be a nice defensive minded backup for Green. Can also nail the 3, finish at the rim and plays well off the ball. He really has no weakness to his game.
Will adding Tate and/or Wood to pick bring it up late lottery? The goal is to get one of the Baylor boys. A defensive minded, sizable starting small forward would make a huge difference.
Nikola Jovic at 16/17 would be a pickup I'd be excited about. 6'10" and a fluid athlete. Knockdown shooter. Some handles. Lot to like just outside of the lottery. Definitely willing to go back to the Euro-well after Sengun's success.
I think the mark Williams hype is a bit much. he's definitely worth a mid first round selection but I'd rather get a year to evaluate sengun as a starter and garuba as a backup.
