Better than the 10th seed squad? Yeah, but that would be based on the 9th seed Nets having a better record than the 10th seed even tho they lost because the 10th seed didn’t win both play-in games to actually make the playoffs…it would still be a lottery pick

Imagine if they didn't implement the play in a couple years ago....

This Nets team that started the year with Harden, Irving and Durant would be in danger of just flat out missing the playoffs and handing over their lottery pick...

Would be the worse "super team" ever assembled...

yeah…they finish 9th or 10th in the East and lose the 1st play-in game…then we get a lotto pick

but even if they made the playoffs, the pick would be just outside the lottery, and using it to move up into the back half of the lottery is an option

We are going to need some next level voodoo by @Reeko to accomplish that.

we have Kyrie to thank…that man is a Trojan horse

Harden, KD, and Kyrie played like 16 games together including the playoffs in almost 2 seasons…insane

they were OP offensively, and would’ve been the easy 1 or 2 seed in the East, but Kyrie had other plans

Has any double digit lottery pick jump into top 4? The percentage is incrediblely low only 3 percent.

Edit: seem like it happens a few time.

Doesn't matter if has or hasn't happened before, as each lottery is a separate drawing and doesn't affect each other.

A chance is still a chance.

Lakers had the 11th worst record in 2019 and got the 4th pick…no doubt Adam Silver did a little something something on lotto night

The Cavs vs Nets game is now huge.

If Cavs win, it most likely will mean that the Nets will have to win two playin games to get into the playoffs as they will get stuck as the 9th or 10th seed. So if Atlanta continues to stay hot (and Rockets lose to them helps), The Nets chances of missing the playoffs is maximized.

If the Nets miss winning the Playin, they will still have either New Orleans or SA worse than them, and potentially the Clippers if they lose to Minnesota in the playin. That would likely give us the 13th pick if Charlotte has at least the same record as BK!

If Brooklyn wins 3 of their last 4 games and wins both playin games gets into the playoffs...Rockets will likely inherit the 16 or 17th pick given is unlikely Both the Cavs and Wolves flame out.

I fully expect them to make the playoffs. But again, if you told any of us this pick would be in the teens preseason we woulda took it. We are winners either way.

Silver needs to realize the future of the NBA (Green) needs help. He can't count on Tillman getting this **** right so he needs to do his part to get him some help.

We don't even know if we're in the lottery yet. lol. I'm just happy they're a 9th/10th seed atm. Nothing is really going to be known from this point on until the play-in.

This diagram lets you know what's going to happen : https://www.nba.com/standings

If Brooklyn makes it into the playoffs (in other words, wins the play-in), they're in the playoffs and out of the lottery. If they don't get out of the play-in, they're in the lottery.

This. It's in the Rockets' best interest to beat the Nets and have the 2nd worst record (a 20% chance of falling to 6th), if it puts the Nets in the 9/10 spot. They would then have to win 2 games just to get in to the playoffs, and if they lose, we would have a 3% chance at another top pick. That 3% is a game changer for us.

14 months later.....We won the hell out of the trade. We will have the first of hopefully many very high draft picks from BKN this year, and Harden isn't on the Nets.

For those who wanted a Simmons trade, yeah not sure if that would have worked out too well either, when is the last time he's played?

Also, it is laughable to the the Nets won the Harden trade to Philly. Not even close, even if Simmons was available.

James really knows how to **** organizations over. That is going to be his legacy more than anything else.
