Look at it this way, Green and Sengun could have gone 1-5 last year. Don't let the haters fool ya, both have that type of potential. This year, the Rockets will yet again have a chance at 2 players that could have gone 1-5. I saw Griffin grimace after a shot yesterday. Nothing came of it but what if previous injuries drop him to #10. Sharpe was on some mocks to be top 5 just 2 weeks ago now he's at 13th in some. Duren, Duren was brought to my attention by posters here as being a lotto pick before the college season began. Now he is fallen. Have a good feeling someone projected at the top 5 at some point this year will be there with the Brooklyn pick. So many possibilities for a winning future. That said, I don't want to do this another year.
basically what your saying the lotto is actually first 30 players? if so this is what i always claimed talent pool is wider today 40 years ago it was mostly americans and college players, today the entire world is the talent pool and everybody has access to resources and learning tools... out of top 100 youngsters in the world today nobody has more talent than the others.... nobody has better basketball genes.... later on its a mater of opportunity environment and mostly luck who will become the best and even deep in their careers you see some players progressing towards the top and others regressing.... its never written in stone also top picks rather than having a better genes they often just have a better opportunity and are given more chances than undrafted players...they prosper because of the biased belief that they are better not because of the innate ability whether it is a result of a self confidence which is essential to growth or a result of being given more playing time and more chances to succeed and are not given up on easily by the teams like they give up on undrafted players or low picks... just look at how much more of a chance jalen green is given than sengun...just because where they were picked...
