I should have said Seth was PLAYING better than Kyrie. Kyrie was obviously a better player career-wise. Kyrie's part-timing is clearly affecting his on court effectiveness.
The dream for me right now is to package the Brooklyn pick and Wood for one of Portland's picks or to Washington. Both of those teams could use a "win now" type guy to convince their franchise players that the team is worth sticking with. Then the Rockets draft AJG and Eason. Those 2 forwards give the Rockets a chance to turn around the defense as each would really help Green and Sengun. KPJ/Nix Green/Christopher Griffin/Tate Eason/Martin Sengun/Garuba Next season would be rough but I think they could be primed for a breakout in 2023.
Sixers missed an opportunity here. Dragic was a good add for Nets. But he's joining a team that is already loaded at this position - Kyrie, Patty, Seth, etc.
Hate to quote myself but that team would be dangerous long term. Projecting Green to become a better defender and efficient scorer in the mold of Lavine and Sengun a version of Damantas Sabonis. If KPJ can play remotely the way he did leading up to the break then that's 3 big pieces that could fit nicely together (looking at you Silas). Griffin, Eason, Christopher, Tate and Martin can all provide 2 way depth as plus role players. Griffin could be much more than that though but I'll be conservative. Nix is obviously a big question mark but I'm just penciling him in as 12-15 minutes off the bench. And, all but Tate, are under 22. And the Rockets still have Gordon as a trade chip, Wall as an expiring and then cap space in the summer of 2023. And plenty of first rounders to use in trades. Am I crazy or is all of this looking pretty good?
I don’t think I would bring a child to that game. The vocabulary learned that evening would be gigantic.
That's huge news. I figured BS would be playing within the next 10 days. The Nets nightmare is our unfolding masterpiece. The last 2 swaps + that last pick figured to tip the scales for us. But, the avalanche has already begun. Such a shrewd move to short the Nets.
Important strength of schedule stats for Rockets: Houston 11 Brooklyn 13 OKC 14 Detroit 17 Charlotte 20 -2.5 Atlanta 26 -2.5 Washington 27 -3.5 I think Atlanta may pass up Brooklyn if Durant stays out until the 15th. I don’t hold out much hope on Charlotte as they are 1-9 over last 10. Brooklyn looks to be no better than 8th seed in my opinion. Washington may have an outside chance of catching them. Best case is Nets is 10th and lose play-in.
I really like this idea in the off-season. Trading Wood and the (14-20th) pick to Portland for the (6-10th) pick would be pretty slick. Would consider that win/win for both franchises.
