Yep - Knicks on troubling trajectory with Tom Thibodeau's tired ways reinforced yet again in blown lead against Nets - CBSSports.com
It’s irrelevant what “everyone is bringing up” if you’re responding to MY comment and I keep refuting what you’re saying. The way you talk about the other two in comparison to Chet just really invalidates your opinion, honestly. You either must not watch a lot of college basketball (which you saying that all 3 of them get the same shots would indicate to me) or you just really don’t like Chet. I don’t know how you can genuinely call him a glorified 3&D player when he will literally go coast to coast on you and either make a smart pass out or finish on you at the rim. There was a stat I read recently that he’s the only player ever in NCAA history to average over 3 bpg and shoot 40% from 3 and 70% from 2. I’ll give you he’s not in a strong conference, but when he played against Duke and UCLA, he played well. I’m also sure he’s going to show out when it matters in March. Also, pointless to say anything else is projection when that literally stands him AND his peers. You project that their positives will translate to the NBA, but nothing is a guarantee. That goes for Jabari and Banchero as well. For me Chet and Jabari are 1A and 1B and I’d be thrilled with either of them at the top pick.
I never said that at least thtats not what I meant my entire issue with Holmgren is that they don't get the same shots and the other 2 have shown more diversity in their games, the majority of Holmgren's shots are spot up 3's or putbacks, Both of the other 2 have shown more diversity in there games so the projection is easier if you can't see that you must have not watched Smith and Banchero. I have a lot of questions about Smith as well but he has at least shown some stuff in the mid post and a little dribbling game. Anyway I am not going to turn this into Chet discussion and I am not saying he can't do these things he just has not been asked to them, so it is a projection if he can be the focal point of an offense in the NBA.
I’m confident you haven’t seen enough of Chet play. Either way, you’re paying Chet a compliment without knowing it. If he gets as many putbacks as you say then he must be an elite offensive rebounder. That said, it isn’t the case. Does he get points of putbacks? Absolutely. Does he score more often from driving off dribble or with his back to the basket? Yes. I’m genuinely trying to understand where you’re coming from, but I can’t. The “diversity” of game doesn’t make sense to me because Chet can do literally a little bit of everything. Athleticism - Wash on all 3 Shooting - Smith, Holmgren, Banchero Finishing - Holmgren, Banchero/Smith Handling - Banchero/Holmgren, Smith Rebounding - Holmgren, Banchero, Smith Defense - Holmgren, Smith, Banchero Playmaking - Banchero, Holmgren, Smith That’s personally how I rate them individually and to me Chet is either 1b or 2nd at worst in all categories. I’d genuinely like for you to tell me how you rank them or why you’re so high on Banchero.
It's not a talking point. You should check out his stats in iso situations where he has to create, the efficiency is not there yet for a big man. He had great potential to be great, but still relatively under developed. It's not even a diss on him, he's drafted for defense.
Definitely drafted for defense. But Mobley is very efficient on offense as well. So efficient, that he is averaging 2nd most PPG of all the rookies. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/highest-scoring-nba-rookie-2021-2022
looks like the Wizards understood the assignment…trasheroni ass Knicks out here blowing 28 points and giving teams hope and inspiration BK heading into the ASB with B2B blowout losses to bad teams should’ve been the outcome…smh
I say if that pick falls between 16 - 18 it’s a win for the Rockets a top 4 pick paired with one of those yields a nice pair of players.
i agree, that should be an immediate contributor. just getting that pick makes the james harden trade worth it. i was thinking they were all going to be in late 20s
heard Nic Claxton was showing love to Harden on IG, so I checked, and he is but Harden was Satan incarnate according to the BK hit pieces hmmm he knows Harden was keeping him fed out there on the court
Checking out his stats does not mean he is raw it just means he is not great in those situations and no he was not just drafted for defense, every scouting report cited his advanced ball handling and passing ability for a guy his size. No scouting report said he was raw offensively the only knock on him was range and most said he would develop that easily. Most draft choices are under developed that does not make them raw. Do you think Green is raw? Mobley has maybe more offensive skills than Green right now outside of shooting from the perimeter.
You haven't seen anything yet. Just wait in 2 years Nets will be a dumpster fire. We will get a lotto pick from them maybe 2.
