Rockets Nation just doesn't seem to comprehend that NONE of teams current bigs, especially at 5 spot, provide consistent rim protection, nevermind ELITE rim protection.

And Chet will play the 4.

Both Sengun and Wood are average rim protectors. And counting on Fernando to even be on the team next season is asinine. And we all know how much Silas trusted Garuba, literally exiling him to the stands, that's how far down the bench he was.

Agree that long 2 way switchable wings are critical too - but not at expense of maximizing elite rim protection.

Find a way to get both.

I agree with Will. Bruno was highly regarded in college or almost equal
to what we can get out of most bigs in the first round this year....if not better.

Kessler is a good shot blocker; but as I showed the college numbers of
both Kessler and Charles Bassey......Bassey kinda had better numbers.

Now the 76ers had or have players in the way of Bassey like Drummond,,
Tobias Harris and others.....but Sharpe with the Nets hasn't seen much time
either this his rookie season and he was a top rated center last year.

It's hard to filter out the good with the bad from two years of tanking
for the Rockets. As I noted C Wood was outnumbered by every team
with mobile bigs from opposing teams every game. I listed the Raptors,
it was like 8 players 6'8 to 6'9-ish to just Wood. I don't feel like Wood
has been giving it his all; but will next season.

I think it was one of his final games, where he got dunked on in the first half
that illustrated this. We were trying to lose and the team was getting thumped.
Wood got viciously dunked on and it pissed him off. Wood then played right
and not only went off from 3: but played defense very impressively.

If we try to win, will Silas actually play Garuba and Bruno? I say yes. Let's roll with
them. Means re-signing Bruno; but how expensive will he be?

It's just hard to get motivated to play defense when your team is tanking
and you don't have much wingspan next to you helping. He finally knocked
that always injured every ten games reputation I had him with.

I'd trade up from #17 to draft the best 2 way wing perimeter defender in this draft.

    Tari Eason

Rockets need to make it their priority to put a lid on the rim next season.

Use draft and FA to end the shytefest on defense.

REMEMBER LAST TIME ROCKETS TOOK PRIDE IN DEFENDING THE PAINT.

This guy would trade Wood, Nets pick #17, Bucks pick next year, and Rockets pick next year for Tari Eason. Wow!

    Who is this Eason guy?!?!

To get to #6 in the draft, I don’t mind putting the 2023 frp in play as long as it is 1-5 protected.

If Eason is that good, take him with our top 5 pick. Or trade back to 6 or 7. It’s absurd to give up those assets to move up from 17.

He may have misspoke in the video. I have a hard time envisioning anyone thinking that is a good idea.

If you give up that much for a player you damn well better be playing him You are going to play your top 5 pick obviously. So you would then be playing 4 2nd year 20 year old players and two rookies. That likely gives you a top 10 pick next year. so 3 1st round picks, one of them a top 10 pick and Wood. lol no
