That’s a great signing by the Mets. Versatile 2-3 win player for $10M/yr and only 2 years seems pretty team friendly.

Mets also signed Mark Canha. 2 really good signings. If they sign a good SP (like Gausman) they will have an extremely deep roster.

Mets having a good day with their signings. It will be weird to play Oakland and no longer see Mark Canha on the A’s. It’ll be even weirder to see Canha (Oakland-area native) on a different team. But that’s baseball.

They need to add more than one starter. Syndergaard is gone. deGrom is a question mark with his elbow injury. Carrasco had surgery to remove bone fragments from his elbow and "hopes" to be back early in spring training. They should sign a Gausman, Ray, or Stroman. Then try and trade for one of the A's starters.

Mets must add a legit #2 while they still have DeGrom in his prime, especially with Lindor, Alonso, and the rest of their lineup. I could see them handing Max a deal he cannot refuse…DeGrom/Max is a strong 1-2, even if Max is almost at the end of his career. I bet they’re kicking themselves for not keeping Wheeler, shame he was never really healthy for them.

If the Mets sign Gausman I would think they’d be the favorite in the NL East, possibly by a wide margin.

That’s a really lite return. Not that I would have been a huge fan of Frazier being the Astros’ everyday CF next season but that’s a good value for Seattle. If the Mariners add a ToR P they should be pretty good.

Pitchers know they need to secure their money now before the lockout. Shortstops need to take the same approach or they will be disappointed with the outcome after the lockout.

Yeah, I was one of the most vocal in going after Buxton. There is definitely risk involved with his injuries but $17M AAV is a steal if he can stay healthy.
