I'm 3 for 3 now.... that was the closest one yet. We don't need one of Verlander's Cy Young competitors throwing a no hitter.
Looking closer at Baltimore, just saw that they have 6 top 100 MLB prospects including Henderson who debuted. They are going to good for a long time. I was worried about the Mariners but the Orioles are starting to look like the future class of the AL. Here's hoping we resign Tucker and Whitley/Brown/Pena live up to expectations.
Making sense of the Dodgers' and Astros' sustained success is rather simple Since the start of 2017, the Dodgers have won 544 games, the most in MLB. The Astros are second with 522. Only one other team clears 500, the Yankees with exactly that many. (Their continued success in the years since does not excuse the Astros’ sign-stealing, but it provides a compelling, if complicated, case that they would have been good without it. Three years after the sanctions, they’re on pace for 104 wins. You’d have to think they stole 22 wins to undermine this argument.) This is no fluke: Houston has scored the most runs in that span; L.A. is second. L.A. has given up the fewest runs in that span; Houston is second. They have the highest two team wRC+ in that time and the lowest two ERAs. Defense is harder to distill into a universally accepted metric, but they also have the lowest two opposing BABIP in that time, a testament to the ineffectiveness of putting the ball in play against them. https://sports.yahoo.com/making-sen...ccess-is-rather-simple-051343759.html?src=rss
20 seconds pitch clock with men on (or auto ball) 15 seconds with bases empty Batters have 8 seconds to be ready (or auto strike) 2 mound disengagements /pickoff throws per PA with a runner on. 4 IFs within IF (not counting P and catcher) with 2 on each side of 2nd. Players are only allowed to adjust themselves when not on camera. (okay made this one up) Bases 3 inches bigger.
Auto strikes and balls are stupid. The pickoff throw attempts isn't as dumb but don't think it's needed.
