Yeah, not going to read too much into that tweet. Typically GM's have major input on the manager (minus situations like the Astros coming off the witch hunt and needing to save face). If they hire a brand new GM, Hinch likely safe. If they hire a veteran, watch out.
Probably not... but Cora got his job back and by all accounts he was very much involved in scandals involving two separate teams.
With Pujols on his recent HR jag, I got to looking at the active leaders. Cabrera has 506, and will play one more season likely. Nelson Cruz has 459, but will be 42 and looks mostly done, don't see him getting to 500. After next season we won't have any active 500 HR hitters for the first time in a while, back in 99 when McGwire got there. Having any active 500 HR guys was pretty rare in the decades prior. If Stanton can stay healthy he will likely get there in 4 years, but still it certainly does feel like Pujols retiring is the end of that "era" where so many players flooded in to the 500 HR club. Half of the top 50 started their career from 86-01
In thinking about the Rays, Jays and the Mariners, they are all neck and neck for the 3 AL WC spots. At a glance, The Jays seem to have the best offense. Team OPS Jays (.755) Mariners (.702) Rays (.693) Team ERA Rays (3.35) Mariners (3.48) Jays (3.87) The opposite in pitching. So which team is your pick to advance the furthest?
And the article doesn't say he's in the top 20. It said he will "likely" end up with a top 30 season and is using WRC+ and OPS+ for comparison.
My post was entirely in reference to the clickbait, trash headline. I never once said anything about the content of the article.
And I replied that the article didn't say he was top 20 regardless of what he headline says. The vast majority of headlines nowadays are clickbait.
Yeah, I think there is some confusion going on here... In my op, I just randomly said it wasn't even top 20, not realizing the article parsed out the top 30 bc I didn't read the trashy, clickbait headline article. It seems you read my comment and responded thinking I was making commentary about the article, which I wasn't. The op was simply over exaggerating to point out, not only is it not the greatest season ever, it's not even top 20, etc. The entire point was that the headline was garbage. I know there are a lot of garbage headlines. Suggesting judge is having the greatest season ever, with a trashy headline p*rn tease, is especially absurd even for the industry standard.
