Mariners are now 10-1 in extra inning games. Dusty needs to review some of their extra inning games to figure out how to win under these new extra inning rules. Mariners are just 6 games back in the division.
They're having their best season since 2016 with a lot of newbies. Been so keyed in with the A's that I didn't notice that.
They should be 8-10 games under .500 when you strip out Pythag luck, adjust for opponent, etc. They will fade sooner or later.
Hardly his fault. They're one of the 2 or 3 youngest teams in MLB (Cleveland #1), I imagine they'll be hateworthy soon. They went 10-9 vs the Stros in 2018 and finished 14 games back.
What is point of this comment. Why do you have to be so negative? He is a pretty amazing player doing something that hasn't been done in a 100 years. Why not just appreciate that.
Agreed. He should be on a better team and play meaningful baseball in October, where legends are truly born.
Back when players really didn’t have much of a choice of where they’d spend their careers? I’m just using the logic that the media uses for great players in lesser markets, regardless of sports. “Need to get x player out of Houston if he wants a chance to win… “. Hell, plenty of fans here use that logic as well (Watt deserves better, Harden deserves better, etc.). If Ohtani is in a mid market or less, on a team that was performing like the Angels, we’d hear plenty more of this. It’s also not like his team is hampered by payroll restrictions. They just don’t have sound front office execution.
I also think Yordan deserves more praise for the start of his career than he’s gotten. This is dating back to 2019 before the media gag order on the Astros.
