i disagree with all the posters who think wang zhi zhi travels in those highlights in the wang thread. to me those are good basketball pivot moves, but eh what do i know. but what lebron just did, that was an *egregious* travel by james. egregious. what a joke.
I thought it was traveling too, I am surprised no one in the broadcast mention it at all. They only said what a strong move it was.
just seeing a replay, did walton's foul really seem like a flagrant. i know it looked bad, but it looked like he was definitely going for the ball but the way thomas ended up contorting his arm ended up where walton swung and he was off-balance and so he got knocked down. maybe i'm wrong. (just realized bill walton is announcing the game). and is tim thomas going to win this series for phoenix? he just can't seem to miss. 4 3's in the freakin' quarter for such a worthless player most of his career. must be nash putting the ball in the basket for him (insert rolleyes). the lakers are getting back into the bad habit of overplaying every penetration and leaving the 3 point shooters wide open. you have to realize phoenix is playing for those 3's. let the guy penetrate and commit, then start going back to the 3 point line. they did that a lot in game 2 and it worked well. they've failed at least twice in a row on these thomas 3's.
either way, someone hit the ball and before james landed back on the ground, he lost control of it. at that point, i think he's free to grab it again and land and then shoot. if the person had hit the ball and james never lost control and landed, it would have been a jump ball, but the bobble frees up the offensive player to grab it again and do what they want at that point (edit: maybe i'm wrong, bobbling in the air off a strip and landing with the ball again might just be a jump ball, but certainly not a travel. i'm not sure how they treat losing the ball in the air and grabbing it back in the air and landing). why do you ask why he drove? he got a layup out of it, and had been driving pretty easily all night. as for out of control, he pretty much burned his man and was clear to the basket before james slid over, and james pretty much got there right as he was taking off. i'm guessing by the "upward shooting motion" definition of a charge, it was a block by james. he wasn't completely set by the time arenas started jumping and that's a block.
They would've definitely won Game 2 in regulation had Artest played. They're not going to beat the Spurs in a best-of-seven series, but they can give them a very hard time.
They didn't need Artest for that game. If Bibby wouldn't have left Barry for the 3, they would've won in regulation. The Kings are playing well even though Bibby is playing poorly. If he can catch on fire, the Kings have a chance to pull the upset.
so beautiful so see it be ginobili who screwed the pooch in the end and to actually have the ball bounce in to make him pay for it. the spurs always seem to get off the hook but now this time.
Not calling travelling on LeBron on that final play was disgusting. That was blatant. Those refs should be fined or suspended or something as you cannot let something like that go without damaging the credibility of the league.
Or call him the best 4 step player in the NBA. He has had at least 3 baskets in the last 3 games that he used 4 steps and not called by the zebra fish. And it's disgusting to see that he always puts on that angered face in front of TV camera. Come one, sometimes you used an extra step and sometimes you charged into the defensive players and should feel lucky that the calls went otherwise.
the Wizard broadcasters pointed that out immediately. They were kind enough to admit that it was a goodlooking play though.
Wade and Payton almost got into a fight! Alot of tension on the Miami bench. These Bulls are going to be contenders soon. I wouldn't disrupt the balance and trade for KG.
Superstar Wade is outplayed by Hinrich again. Even the announcers admit that Hinrich knows Wade's game so well that he never buys Wade's 'cheap' pump fake.
Gotta luv the Baby Bulls My picks are holding up well except for the Grizz who seem to be ready to roll over and die for the Mavs...owell...
His D on Wade is even more impressive. Besides a couple of layups, Wade got nothing going for him in the second half. He kept waiting for Hinrich to jump on his pump fake, and when Hinrich did not buy those once, Wade had to settle for 8-23 shooting for the game (2-17 from the perimeter). Shaq will no longer win a ring in his lifetime. He has absolutely no presence on the court in the last 2 games.
