I think people are ansy not because of how they are unveiled but when. I.e. - will basketball interest, for that matter, Houston Rockets specific basketball interest, be higher in late July / August / September than it is now. Only way that is likely to happen is if the Comets win another championship, which is unlikely to happen. The JVG hiring, the draft, the Finals, the fact that other teams have gotten their new digs out there (i.e. have already captured some of the new uniform market league-wide) etc. seem to have made the last few weeks the perfect time, for a business perspective to get it out. Of course, I'm sure the Rockets, Tim & Co. have done their homework with regards to this.
It's a fun scenario, but, honestly, we have no idea what was on his hat either. We've been dying to know -- we talked with the league about it today, but nobody who was there could remember. Go figure. I've only seen one hat, and it's a prototype ... and it's locked in my desk drawer at the moment. (Got it Thursday morning in Fedex.) If anybody figures out what was on his hat ... hey, let me know. In fact, if you're the first one who can show me a picture of what was on his head, I'll promise to send you one of the new caps before it comes out in the stores. Tim
Only picture that I bet anyone has seen. I doubt there were any other angles taken? Do I get a new hat for that?
If you look closely at the hat it looks as though you can see the tip of the blue rocket towards the top right on the front of the cap. Do I get the hat for that infor Tim?
Ummmm ... that's the right spirit, D-Roc. But, ummmmm ... no. I really am curious about what was on that hat, though.
I did not notice this before. If you look at the cap during his handshake you will see some white image on the side of the hat. Non of the other 2003 draft caps have this. But our secondary hat does
Here is a link to all of the Rockets caps on the NBA store. Note there is a red one. http://store.nba.com/grid_item_list...vIds=187&sid=f17cbc80e1ef493d811b10a744373209
Hmm. There's a good chance Faos could be right. A generic NBA cap seems like a likely scenario, even though we don't know for sure. It would be pretty funny if it was the red Rockets cap in the NBA store, though, since that's the Hardwood Classics hat that uses the old "Pizza, Pizza" logo. (And, er, no, we're not bringing back the brother of Little Caesar for the new logo. ) Tim
