I really don't watch much TV anymore except for sports, VH-1, and the Cartoon Network (love the old Bugs Bunny and Warner Brothers cartoons). And, I never watch network television except when I'm home at 7 on Sunday night, the Simpsons.

Yes, it's a cartoon, but it's been on for like 13 years and after a period of unfunny episodes, The Simpsons are back to being funny again. It is amazing how the writers for this show come up with things that really do happen to people. My favorite main character has to be Homer. He does some of the dumbest things that it really is funny. IMO, The Simpsons became a great show when the writers quit focusing every episode on Bart and started focusing more on Homer. My overall favorite character has to be Comic Book Guy. Every time he appears in an episode, I always wind up ROTF!!

The other show and it has been mentioned on this BBS for its ability to show crazy things that happen on that show do happen in real life is Seinfeld. So many great episodes here--that it would take all day to list them. But some of my favorites include The Soup Nazi, The Bubble Boy, The Contest, The Bizarro Jerry, and the one where people think George and Jerry are gay, not that there is anything wrong with that!

The funny thing about Seinfeld is that you know by watching the show how shallow the characters are and how they are really not good role models at all. Yet, you can't help but watch and start laughing because they show things that really do happen. Boy, do I miss that show!

Aside from the main characters, Mr. Burns is probably my favorite, although there are many other side characters (hell, pretty much all of them) that are great in their own way.

Wiggum: Excuse me? Mr. Farmer Man? I promised my son he could tip over his first cow, and I -- tomacco?

Homer: Yes, it's the latest craze. Try some, won't you?

Wiggum: Go ahead, Ralphie. The stranger is offering you a treat.

Ralph: Oh, Daddy, this tastes like grandma.

Wiggum: Holy Moses, it *does* taste like grandma!

Ralph: I want more.

Wiggum: Yeah, me too. We'll take a bushel or a pack or just --
just give it to me.

From "Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment"

Rex Banner: Are you the Beer Baron?
Comic Book Guy: Yes, but only by night. By day, I'm a mild-mannered reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper.
Rex Banner: Don't crack wise with me, Tubby!
Comic Book Guy: Tubby? (he looks at his stomach) Oh, yes, Tubby.

From "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show"

Comic Book Guy: Last night's "Itchy & Scratchy" was, without a doubt, the worst episode ever. Rest assured, I was on the Internet within minutes, registering my disgust throughout the world.
Bart: Hey, I know it wasn't great, but what right do you have to complain?
Comic Book Guy: As a loyal viewer, I feel they owe me.
Bart: What? They've given you thousands of hours of entertainment for free! What could they possibly owe you? If anything, you owe them!
Comic Book Guy: Worst episode ever.

You gotta love a guy who has a master's degree in folklore and mythology!!

The only problem I have with Comic Book Store Guy is the episode this last season when he fell in love with Agnus, Skinner's mother. That was just creepy.

Past instances in which I professed to like you were fraudulent.

Yea, that episode was one in which the writers erred in my opinion.

Homer: Hello, my name is Mr. Burns, I believe you have a letter for me.

Post Office guy: O.K. Mr. Burns, what's your first name?

Homer: I don't know?

(Homer talking to Bart outside)

Homer: Nice plan Bart.

Cartoons suck, Seinfeld rules. Three's Company is right up there too.
