@Senator you start more than your fair share of climate related threads so I assume it is something that is very important to you. I was just curious what is your carbon footprint like? What do you drive? What steps have you personally taken to save the planet? Most people who talk about climate change only expect others to change while they keep on living the same lifestyle. Have you gone through the steps to put your money where your mouth is?

I got a 2015 with 12k Miles used for like 20,000. Gave me so much extra money to use on gas to pollute the environment with.

Good thing I don’t have kids. It’s cramped in those back seats

    Or a nuclear winter.

I heard that when an extinction level asteroid hit, some super duper volcanoes eruption occurs, or other physic changing event occurs, greenhouse gasses no longer acts as greenhouse gasses. Amazing ;)

China doesn't have a mind of their own.

    As America does, they follow.

Huge tariffs on any animal products from them, for which inhumanity is a prerequisite, is something that will happen eventually.

Anyone in politics has no choice but to walk the walk personally or no legislation proposed by them is taken seriously.

Went from a 2010 Hyundai genesis to a Chevy Volt in 2016. Have always preferred public transport on the East Coast or the light rail in Houston. In general I promote legislation based on public transport initiatives that leave people less reliant on cars and allows those from poorer neighborhoods get to where they need without them. More government intervention is needed over free enterprise in this situation.

If you read the OP, which you didn't, I went from a corn and beef kid to someone who does not eat red meat at all. That is huge. The availability of meat grown outside the industrial system is important, even though it's expensive, as it cuts down on huge portions of cheap meat Americans have become reliant on and gives them healthy alternatives. Huge portions of meat at every meal have never been the norm throughout human history.

I have altered the consumption habits and priorities of my extended family which have stuck with them as they got older.

None of it is rocket science or comparable to difficulties our ancestors have faced, but you have to be the bigger man at first and go against what you think is the easiest, most convenient option. Once you have the willpower to do what's right, you don't see it as giving up something you like. Hopefully you'll have the courage one day to do the same, instead of sending "hopes and prayers" to those affected by global warming and health issues.

Those things don't change physics, nothing does. Also, I was only listing natural occurrences that WILL happen at some point in the future, not things potentially done by man which might never occur.

I honestly didn't think you were serious about all of this and I'm not sure I believe it completely now. That said, I do hope you realize that you not eating any red meat only matters when it comes to your own health, it has nothing at all to do with global climate. The entire country could go vegan starting tomorrow and it wouldn't even make up for the increased carbon footprint of China and India. If Africa ever starts to develop enough to add to that things would only get worse. Countries like China and India aren't going to harm their development for the climate change community even though they'll feel free to lie to them with non-binding agreements that they have no intention of abiding by.

Pretty good deal. You may want to fill up on fuel every night and just keep it running all night while you sleep with all the lights on in the house.

When you get ready to leave in the morning you can literally hear the birds weeping.

    Get opposable thumbs, assholes!

You should visit NY sometime - you might just find the stereotype different than you think.

By the way, I lived in Texas for 8 years

    Illiberals: We need carbon taxes.
Me: You could go vegan instead of forcing this burden on everyone.
Illiberals: That’s impossible! Quit asking so much of everyone.

Is this the conversation in your head.

The fact that you think all liberals think alike shows how out of touch you really are.

I had a 44 farms ribeye yesterday.....and I had another today. I promise I’ll quit.....just as soon as I lose the ability to cook them perfectly. I did not drive my truck to purchase them though. My sister in law brought them to us.....in her suburban.
