I wouldn't call them ****ed, but it defintitely hurts their trade down position (and I'm sure they will be trading down if Bush gets hurt).
peyton's and culpepper's touchdown totals are off the chart for 04 so yeah vick doesn't compare there. and that's where you lose me because now you want the guy to match the highest total in league history but adding his rushing tds with passing he's in the top half of the league. so are his total yards, I never said they were at the top. and the other thing about your list is all of those guys are older than vick so I would expect them to be better. when Peyton was 25 he accounted for 30 tds. when mcnabb was twenty five he accounted for 27. Dellohme wasn't even playing. Culpepper, 28. Vick 21. He's not that far off those guys' pace in production but that's another thing about this argument, Vick hasn't reached his prime. you compared manning's best year of tds which is the best year ever for any qb to vick. even carr's older than vick. considering what this guy has done up till this point in his career, considering his age and the upside I don't think he's overrated and I think people who do think so are nitpicking.
vick had his best year at age 22 with 3600 total yards and 24 tds. then atl changed the offense after he missed most of the next season. the only thing I would be worried about is that after two seasons he still hasn't adjusted to the offense but he's already proved that he can be very productive playing his style and 2900 of those yards were passing which wasn't shabby.
If Kubiak gets the coaching job & Reeves has a say-so in the draft, then we trade the pick. I think we could get 6 extra picks 3rd round & higher over the next 2 or 3 years. With those picks we can add talent to the offensive line & greatly improve our pass blocking. DD & JW are very capable rb's. We could also add another wr to help out AJ. Plus add pass rushers to the defense. Dallas built a 10 year dominant team with 3 rings that way.
pgabs -- everything you just said indicated he's young and still has a lot to prove. i agree with that wholeheartedly. so does eli manning...and we don't call him a pro bowler based on his potential. i'm saying until he earns it, mike vick is overrated.
Did Reeves, like Shanahan, succeed with a string of no-name backs? If that be the case, he may not be so infatuated with Bush....
