Unless Scola and Landry are set up for easy baskets they will be ineffective especially Luis, only McGrady can feed them. Another major problem is how to help Scola from getting in foul trouble.Hayes,Deke, and Battier will have to help him and Carl out but McGrady has to give Luis in particular easier chances to score by penetrating and dishing before he or Landry foul out, otherwise we will be beaten. We can't just rely on Battier/Rafer to shoot the 3,we have to move the ball around to get good shots and it's imperative to knock them down. I also feel that Jackson/Rafer or Rafer/Jackson/ or Brooks might have to be on the floor together for short periods so they can drive to the basket when Tracy is unable to do it. We have to be at 110% tonight or it will be all over. Show Rockets pride, play smart, hard and don't give up. We can win tonight despite all the odds.
I think Novak should play when battier go out and bring in brooks as well. Why? One can shoot and the other can penetrate. If the run a pnr using brooks and novaks man, that hesitation or the switch is enough to get brooks down the lane or novak the space. Meanwhile its a backside action with tracy off a down screen. What I'm really saying is the focus on tracy should be used against the jazz. Getting action away from him allows openings. I also think novak should play some 4/5 when okur is in. Scola keeps losing okur in transition cuz its really not natural for a 4 to guard a guy outside the arc. I just think brooks speed and novak shooting is too good to not play more.
I think Shane Battier should just shoot more shots his easily our best shooting forward at the moment and his taking like 8 shots a game compared to rafer with like 20
I agree. Man, this guy is so reluctant to score, he's almost a liability on the offensive end. Kind of like ben wallace except the problem is shane can score. Is it built into his head that he is a defense specialist and doesn't really focus on the offensive end? We need more then McGrady to be focused on.
Look I'm not saying Rick Adelman reads the board or anything, but come on. TMac was dominant tonight and he spent a lot of time in both low and high post. I know the Knicks are probably hiring but I've got to go to law school so no thanks.
Without Yao, McGrady is their best low post scorer. luis is more of a facing the basket pf, and landry just hasn't developed that skill yet although i'm sure he will. and mutumbo and chuck, well they're mutumbo and chuck. if utah was going to take away the peremiter, it had to be done.
