Could somebody please explain to me the veto trade process. If a trade is proposed and accepted, the trade goes into a pending stage. How long does it take for the deal to be finalized? Thanks
You have to update your roster for each individual day or it will remain how it is the day before (the day you last updated). If you notice though, right above your roster (on the "My Team" page) it says each day of the week. You can set your roster for the rest of the season right now if you choose by clicking the day, pressing submit, then going onto the next day. The best way to go about setting your roster is doing it every 3-5 days. This is my preference, and I know for experience using Yahoo. Everyone has starting pitchers on their bench and Yahoo denotes that they are starting when they have a carrot (^) next to their scheduled game. They only have it there around 3-5 days in advance, hence that's why I set my roster that way. As long as you have SP's on your bench and you plan on using them, you'll have to keep updating your team frequently - not that that's a bad thing. There are no game limits in our league. There is, however, a minimum innings pitched requirement. Each roster has to attain 30 innings a week, otherwise they will automatically lose all 5 pitching categories. This prevents teams from using just relievers who get low ERA and WHIP most of the time. I think we already know the main parts of the process, but I believe I know what you're refering to. Everytime you have a trade accepted, if you go and click on the details of it, in bold letters it will say what day the trade will be effective for (meaning the day that the newcomers will be in your lineup). Also, DAMN YOU fatman, no one was supossed to pick up White. I was gonna get him back the next day. ARGH!
Right now is the time for heavy trading, so I'm gonna decrease the review time up until the season gets going. After we've been in it for a while, I'll put it back up to 2 days just in case anyone does decide to give players away, but I don't think we'll have to worry about that. Then again, my team will be beating yalls so badly, yall might just give in. Sinfonia Sluggers (I forget who you are on the BBS), I know YOU DEFINITELY GOT THE BETTER END of our deal and by QUITE A BIT I think, but there's a guy I wanna get on waivers and I don't need as many bench guys either. Barry's OBP is wayyy better than anyone else's though, so that's one plus about it. I'm worried about how he'll do though, now that's he not juicin'. He's an injury concern too, so the trade doesn't look so great for me now, but I got a good feeling about the player I'm gonna pick up that everyone else seemed to have forgotten about.
Santo and I need some OF. We have Ortiz and Wells available, but may also trade a top rung starter for some choice prime beef. Anyone wanting Pierre can probably forget it. We are short in the OF
Yeah I figured you waived him to clear up some space so that you could pick him up again....but I saw White on the wire and it was too good of an oppurtunity to pass up.
I've got a question regarding the roster updates... I know you can update your rosters a week in advance, but are those changes set for a couple days before you can change them back? Or can they be changed every day regardless of whether the players are playing in a game that day?

You can change your roster at any second, any time. If you add a player, he won't be available until the next day. You will not be able to change a player's position in your lineup once it gets close to gametime though. For example, if a guy is playing at 7:00 one night, you could do whatever you want at say, 3:00, but 6:45 would most likely be too late. Note that whenever you do a trade, any way that you might have adjusted your lineup will revert back to the way it was before you set it beginning on the day the trade becomes effective. If you didn't follow, just be sure to update your roster each time you make a trade. P.S. You're a bad speller fatman, let it be known.
fatman, I wanted to say this to you on AIM, but we haven't been on at the same time. Huff/Soriano for Manny/Castillo/White...Manny had BETTER numbers than Huff with LESS at bats and he's in a better lineup. Castillo is one of the best hitters for average and last year was his worst year in SB's, he'll probably get around at least 30. Then you're basically getting White for free and to even out some of the power loss between the two 2B. Now what's wrong with that?
Well...I would have thought about accepting that trade, but...I have White now I'm kinda iffy on Castillo...last year he had a bad year (for him) with steals and I'm kind of hung up on Soriano. I would do Huff and Ibanez for Ramirez....pending NWO's acceptance of my Lopez for Lee trade. NWO...any word on that?

I already have Lieberthal (he'll work out for me). I need an SS, but Lee for Berroa is an uneven trade. If you want to do a trade w/ Berroa, you got to give me someone decent that I need for my team...like a 3B (don't want Feliz). Or we might have to convince someone else to get involved as a 3-way trade so we can all be satisfied.
