The past 2 months are the happiest days of my life! I am very very proud of you guys! Regardless of what happens in the future, this 22 win streak will be the highlight of this year. Despite the shortcomings in the playoffs in the past several seasons, i have faith in this team. I feel very fortunate to be able to witness this amazing run and I am proud to tell everyone that i am a ROCKETS fan!!
What can I say that already hasn't been said? Many of you have articulated my feelings better than I probably could. I've been going through some tough personal issues and professional problems over the past month or so, but no matter how hard things got there were the Houston Rockets continuing their winning ways. The streak always put a smile on my face at the end of the night. I was lucky enough to be at Toyota Center when they won their 22nd game in a row and it was amazing. As Rocks4ever said this group truly exemplifies the team concept. No matter what happens, I will never forget this winning streak. 22 in a row - we might not ever see this again. Thank you! I savored every moment of it!
2 1/2 hours after the game ended, thats how long it took for me to take the plunge and see how the national media takes the end of the streak, the second longest winning streak this league has witnessed. As I witness from other comments, I could never be prouder of a blowout lost. As my good friend seclusion reminded me last week, we could not be prouder of these Rockets. For us fans to suffer the Hakeem Olajuwon/Richard Jefferson/Rudy Gay trade, the Francis Migrane season, signing bad contracts from Matt Maloney, Moochie Norris, Maurice Taylor, and Kelvin Cato. Believing we were a Playoff Team until we actually became one in 2004. Suffering to see Tmac on a stretcher during the 2005-2006 season and still sticking with them. For the past month and a half, my team of 18+ years, gave me, my family, friends, coworkers, this city one hell of a ride to remember. This team gave us 7 weeks of perfection which some critics still doubt the validity at the end. Sure, a Larry O’Brian trophy will be nice in 3 months, but this team did something that no other team other than the LA Lakers of the 70’s did. They give a NBA Championship every year, but we accomplished 22 consecutive wins in which some of the greatest teams in NBA history has not done. Everybody that knows me, can vouch the extent of how big of a fan I am. To those who think I just hoped on the bandwagon, well, quite frankly, you just don’t know me. In the end, I would rather have ended it at a home game, rather than on the road who’s uneducated fans would look down at our streak that they WILL NEVER match in their team history. You deserved the appropriate standing ovation from your hometown fans, rather than a standing ovation for the opposing team. For those fans who stayed with me till the end of the buzzer, and gave the appreciation this team deserved, you have my deepest respect from one fan to another. Thanks Rockets, you made one fan of 18 years something proud of and will not forget for a long time. This is a streak I will be talking about for ages with the likes of the 2 championships of ’94 and ’95. Now on the bigger and better things to finish off the season and on to the playoffs.
I'm proud of them too,but we have such a long way to go to clinch a playoff spot. We need to continue with the good work and try to do our best.
I couldn't be any prouder as a Rockets fan. I'd say that the past month and a half takes the cake for my fondest Rockets memories, even over the championship seasons (but only because I was so young during those two years). Thanks for the memories, Rockets!
I had some time to think on this one, and to be honest, this was the least disappointing 'big game' loss I've ever seen. I'm 'stuffed' with Rockets pride right now- I don't think it's possible to be more proud of the team. Thanks again, fellas!
Agreed. This was an amazing ride that no one could foresee, especially with the big man out. And yet our guys epitomized teamwork and it was great to watch. It was also great sharing this with ClutchFans because I live in NYC and don't know many Rox supporters. I'm glad I found you folks so that I could feel like I'm a part of the fun. Dear Rockets: Thanks for the memories. We'll always have 22.
Winning the championships was the highlight of my rockets fanship. This is a close second. Thank you all for all the hard work. Fierguard
Thanks Rockets! The city hasn't had this kind of energy since the championship years (had a small amount of it when we were up 2-0 on dallas a few years back but nothing like this). I was there to see the streak start vs GS, sadly I was there to see it end Go Rockets, kick NO's ass and get back to winning!
Thanks Houston Rockets for the memory! I'll remember this forever. 2nd longest winning streak!! This won't be broken anytime soon... truly remarkable! On a side note: To Jim Foley - good luck with the surgery and get well soon buddy!!
yea good luck to foley on his bladder surgery (wishes go out to him and his family) but i really wish i could have been there first hand to join in with the remaining fans and give them a standing ovation. this streak is a historic streak and the team has done something that will ALWAYS be remembered. hopefully they get to enjoy that. but now all the pressure/media attention hopefully will disappear and the team can re-focus on the main task at hand--improve on the weaknesses that were exposed last night, focus more on the playoffs... let's go rockets
I highlighted the link and click "Insert Image" but it doesn't work... how can I put the picture here? Edit... I got it working... thanks....
a half team w/o yao winning 10 in a row really gave me a hope we can win at least one round playoff series if we don't face top D teams, spurs and utah.
we all knew the streak was going to come to an end. so i don't know why people are going all nuts over the loss. yes it sucks but atleast we went down to the best team in the league, not gsw or something. it does give me a dang good reason to cheer against the celtics thoughout the entire playoffs. as long as we win some more games and stay in the middle of the playoff seeding...we might be able to win the first round. otherwise this is how it will feel after getting bumped in the playoffs AGAIN.
The streak gave the fans amazing excitements after our poor first 30 games and some hope after Yao went out.
This was one of the most amazing rides ever. I loved every minute of it. It's definitely something I won't ever forget. And although the vast majority of people won't have a clue who was on this team when they look back at the records, I'll be able to tell them every one of them and the all about the way the played and believed in each other to do it. Big Thanks to the whole team!!!
Extremely proud of what the Rockets accomplished during this streak as they had to adjust on the fly and kept their composure and kept prevailing. A loss to Boston, the best team in the NBA, is better than a loss to team we should have beaten. Hopefully, the Rockets do not get caught up in the loss and focus on tonights game which carries more importance.
