Thanks all who voted for Alperen Sengun to the All-Star game and helped Alpi pass Kawhi!

Any Rocket player who wins one, goes on the team's permanent record. If the rationale is pro-Rockets but meh on Sengun, can rationalize winning one will up his trade value... down the road ( don't at me, Sengun fans ). Semi joking, but these type of awards are good for appraising a team's assets.

At the least, support to widen the gap between Sengun and the Wemby votes. Should see some of the entitlement Spurs fans feel Wemby should get his rookie year. Wemby will get one eventually, but shouldn't be this year.

Lastly, if any chosen gets injured, I can see NBA head coaches picking someone like Rudy or KAT for the reserve spot. Wolves' regular season record is too good.

The support has to come from the fan side.

So people stop thinking I'm a Sengun hater.... I just voted for Sengun 3x

 

Can't they both make it? It's 12 man rosters right? Can't they have 6 frontcourt players?

 

I think the way I would describe it is :

The players who were named all nba 1st or 2nd team in any given year just about 100% deserved to be on one of the 3 teams. Someone may have gotten 1st team but probably should been second or gotten 2nd team and probably should have been 3rd. But the all nba 3rd team has had plenty of questionable guys that you look back and think man the narrative really pushed them ahead of more statistically deserving players.

 

Sure. I wasn’t saying it had to be one or the other. Just if you asked me who is more deserving I think it’s pretty easily Kawhi.

 

Oh ok yeah I agree with you. I have Kawhi at 5 and Sengun at 6 if I'm ranking froncourt players in the west. Like you said I think theres a ton of guys in the mix every year that don't make it, but naturally as a rockets fan I have Sengun. But it's really close between Sengun, Sabonis, Wemby, PG, or Chet. Or even a guy like Markanen has a case.

I hope Alpi makes the ASG but I look forward to not watching it for the 10th year in a row. Also I think players & coaches and not fans should vote for all-stars.
