Which essentially makes it a 6-for-1 trade.

ohhh. I'm guessing cause of Tejada? Or is it his injury? I haven't read up on the stros lately. :(

Unless I'm mistaken, we won four games in that series. ;)

(But yes, they were all like 2-1 and 3-2. :) )

The Astros are trading away all my favorite players. Wheeler, Bruntlett, Lane, Ensberg, Tavares, Hirsh, Buchholtz, Patton, Vizcaino, Scott, Everett, Burke, Ausmus, Biggio, Bagwell. Who's next, Berkman?

Surprisingly, Wigginton's zone rating is very good while he was with the Astros at .710. Of course, the sample size is considerably smaller since he only played here for 1/3 of a season. Also, his ZR stats at Tampa Bay is no where close to .710. However, maybe he isn't such a bad defender at 3B after all.

First Bruntlett, Now Everett. My favorite Astros are getting canned. :( Good luck, Adam. I know the fans in your next home will love the plays in the outfield between 1st and 2nd as much as I did.

His phantom tag when he was vertical against the Cardinals was money. He really sold it and we got a nice call from the ump. Anyone remember that?

yeah Adam, thanks for failing 99.98% of all situations at the plate. The .02% was with nobody on and the Stros down by 10. btw, I don't think anyone is arguing his ability to play defense, the real arguement is: did he save enough runs defensively to justify his lack of production at the plate on the weak offensive teams he played for.....the answer to that is no. If the Astros were in the American league, had an offensive minded catcher and could trot out a DL in place of the pitcher, Everett's .075 batting average wouldn't have bothered anyone. Take a look at the last few WS winners...everyone one of those teams got production from 6-8. Not the Astros.

Anyway, see you later Captain Suckass. I don't care if Tejada isn't as good defensively, if we could get some freakin' pitching it wouldn't matter as much.

defense saves pitching over the course of a season. at least 25 times last season innings went a lot longer because of bad defense than they should have.

That's too bad.I was actually looking forward to AE playing SS with Tejada at 3B.

Right out of the shoot as he was catching up to Big League pitching came the broken wrist. While I'm still not clear on his health and would like the defense up the middle,I can't help but think how much better he would have been at the plate sans wrist injury.

It's refreshing to get rid of some of these players who just weren't getting it done...especially offensively. We finally have a shortstop that can hit. I never thought I would see the day. I liked Everett but alot of his good defense was negated by his poor hitting making him an average player. A change of scenery might do him good. I wish him well.

I'm getting pretty excited about all these moves and how much the team has changed. I'm actually thinking we could be pretty good next season. Time will tell.
