Garcia played his heart out this game; im really impressed with his defense on KD; he really was quiet until that lucky ass 3!
Garcia was awesome last game!! He was the perfect role player - great D and hitting the open shot. Is this kind of performance an extreme outlier for him? Is he capable of doing this regularly? I don't know a ton about him other than his stint with the Rockets. It's a shame we wasted his performance on a loss....
Harden's given us a lot to cheer about this year. Hope all those missed free throws and WTF? turnovers last night will make him more determined to improve next year. If he comes into camp out of shape, that will be a very bad sign of things to come. My biggest disappointment this year: Moti. SMH...
I think we'll keep one of the Latin twins--the least expensive one, I presume. Garcia's contract this year is even bigger than Delfino's. 6M, IIRC
The rockets won't keep Garcia on his current contract unless we really lose out in free agency. Swingmen like them aren't that difficult to find. We wouldn't be so excited about his play if it wasn't for how awful our main guys have performed in these playoffs.
Is he really that replaceable?? How many guys can play that kind of D on a superstar and still knock down the open shot? I just don't know if really good role players - Garcia, Patterson, etc. - are that abundant in the league. But I may be wrong...
Garcia came into the league old. Bad for him he spent all his career in Sacramento He mighta kept himself in the NBA an extra year or 2 with his last game, should get paid by someone vet minimum. Garcia exemplifies the NBA professional role player off the bench.
Same here, I actually thought based on previous games Garcia was trash at defending but he proved there is something left in him. Frankly, I like his play better then Delfino (Garcia seems to have better shot selection although he is a liability when dribbling). That being said, when he, Delfino and Parsons are on the court at the same time, I still cringe because as nice as he was last night, I think that line up is usually the one that lets leads slip away because those three are all just waiting to jack up a shot behind the 3 point line.
Garcia should start instead of Lin game 4. Garcia/Beverly/Harden/Parsons/Asik thats the best chance this team has, Lin is hurting the team right now.
