If Thabeet actually showed promise defensively, would you change your stance? Because thats all we need him to do.

What I don't understand is in Marc's case,
how can we formally offer 12mil/yr without amnestying Thabeet?
I would think that we told Marc's agent that 4/55 is what we're WILLING to offer if he signs with us.
Has there been any confirmation that an official offer has been made?

in regards to amnestying other players on our team like flynn, hill.
Look at their salaries. Thabeet has the highest with least likelihood of getting return.

He also was the number 2 pick with a lot of upside if he develops, and more importantly at a position where he is teh ONLY center on our roster.

I see thabeet is getting overworked in practice by the coaches. Hope he learns develops rebounding and defensive skills and we should keep him

No offer sheet has actually been made.

Morey knows it would be stupid to amnesty waive Thabeet (and cost his boss over $5M) only to have his offer sheet inevitably matched.

If a Gasol S&T can be worked out, or if Nene is ready to sign, THEN Thabeet will be waived. Short of those events happening, I think Thabeet is safe.

That is, unless Morey thinks of something else.

From Jason's article about today's practice about Thabeet.

    http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/training_camp_day_3_young_roc_2011_12_11.html

" Afterward, McHale made mention of the positive performances turned in by Jordan Hill, Jonny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet, the latter of whom enjoyed his best day of camp so far, swatting shots and scoring several times in the low post.

Bunch of Rocket haters around here.

In any sport during the off-season and training camp there is always good news and good reports.

Then the season starts and **** gets real.

Hey I agree with DD give him a shot. Start him, if he ends up a with 10 boards and 2 blocks a game he's everything we need and we got him for Batmans corpse. If he fails, who cares we can draft Davis or Drummond :)

If no official offer has been made, then there's no point of all the reports that Grizz are "expected to match" so none of these things are new news.
I'm assuming that our offer has been leaked by Gasol's agent to try an up his offer?
