Watch us get Thabeet and watch him turn into Olajuwon to Yao's Ralph Sampson and me be eating my words about him being a bust.

Tho I highly doubt that would happen. Thabeet is more likely Sam Bowie II.

Thabeet coming? Cool. His very raw, but still a 7 footer that just played basketball for what? 3 years? Inline with the Rox tradition of getting a young big man after the old one is gone. Moses, Ralph/Hakeem and Yao.

Some people on this board will be sorely disappointed when this turns out to be false

Alrite lets get him. Though he will be known as Ha. Not Hasheem. We cannot have a name that is even half close to sounding like the great Hakeem.

OP said his friend overheard Morey say Thabeet would be a part of the team. So, if true, it's more than just he's in town.

He could have been telling him that he would be a big part of the Grizzlies...

Is it not possible that a GM and a player from a different team can have dinner...just wondering...

not trying to condemn the thread...just want a few answers...

It is very possible... But have you ever heard about that happening?

Im pretty sure DM and thabeet have no ties together... So im not sure why they would be eating together.. And I have no idea why DM would be telling thabeet that he would be a big part of the grizz when DM doesnt work for the grizz and probably doesnt know what they are planning.

That's the point : we don't know yet. You don't slam the guy until it's fairly obvious or proven he's wrong.

This has happened before. The greatest example being a user on this forum (Rocketsfan34) buying shoes in a mall overhearing someone in the mall saying the deal for Francis to Houston was done before anyone knew about it. We had someone working at Whole Foods (? rockHEAD) say Hakeem told him he would be playing the next season, but it wouldn't be in Houston, etc.

Ok maybe they were both there, DM saw Thabeet and vice versa and they exchanged formalities. Which would include Morey saying something to the likes of "Oh, you're going to help out the Grizz for sure."

Either way, no one in this thread is going to be disappointed if this indeed turns out to be a rumor. People understand what rumors are, and just like to discuss these things in the offseason.

I'm not expecting this to be true at all, doesn't mean I can't discuss the possibility of it being true.
