The only immediate actions should be pruning the roster/moving EG.

All problems with a young team - turnovers , poor shooting … doesn’t matter who the coach is …the Rockets only have 2 trustworthy ball handlers.

With as bad as this team passes, folks would love to run a Rick Adleman type of offense …. Or they want to play through Sengun which can also be exposed unless he develops a jumper .

We are staying within 1-2 games of the bottom teams of the league as Planned!

Sure, that's one way to look at it.

Another way to look at it is that a rookie Isiah Rider was already a better shooter (relative to the offense-challenged era in which he played) than Jalen Green with nearly 100 games under his belt.

I guess that's the point I'm making about the folly of your iron law of Archetype trajectories, if you pick only good ones and set the bounds of Beal and Booker and think happy thoughts everything is great.

But, there are way more out there, many or most of which are not as good all the way to downright bad - like the current Rockets.

And completely ignore that Rider played 4 years in college with a way more developed body and experience going into the league.

So? Jalen Green has a G Leauge season and a full NBA season under his belt now. When's the time when we can stop making excuses? I know the "well unfair because he skipped college" excuse is now in vogue, but it looks weak as hell to dredge it up after a guy made an all-rookie team.

NOt to mention the fiction that a few months of 1-and-done is now a crticial finishing step. Hell look at Paolo, he was lazy and bored with college to the pooint where people questioned his motivation; turns out he's a much better pro than a collegian. He should've skipped college.

I don't care if Silas gets fired during the season or not. This team is not going to be good this year no matter who is the coach. However, Stone needs to force Silas to change his rotations. Josh Christopher is a 1st round pick. Play him. Why is Matthew's playing? Why is EG playing? If we are going to see what we have in the kids, then play the kids. Green, Sengun, Tari, Bari, KPJ, KMJ, Christopher, Garuba, Washington,Tate (when he comes back) need to be getting the majority of the minutes. We have to see what we have and how they fit together.

He absolutely could. He could also end up better than all of those players. Damn, Sam. I've always loved your perspective but you've been a serious downer lately, bro. Are you okay? I will hug you.

Oh TF has taken actions. We are currently experiencing the sum total of his actions since 2018.

    Now
Bench Gordon —> Tate takes his minutes
Trade Martin & Christopher for any thing positive

    Trade deadline
honor Gordon with his removal without taking back anything negative. —> buying him out

    Then
With 20 games left give Silas other responsibilities and let coach Fat finish the year. Keeps draft positioning.

Agreed on the first part, but not on the last.

I'm legitimately interested in Clutch's Rockets Talk tonight on team development. But I also don't pin the blame on Silas. I think Fertitta, Stone, Silas and Harden share responsibility for the 2022-2023 Rockets. The Fertitta meltdown of the team always meant risk.

As I type this today there is a (slim) chance that no current Rocket will make an all star team, or an NBA finals. NBA is all about finding "that" cornerstone guy, of which there are MAYBE 10 at any given time in the league. Rockets should be rolling dice all over the place, which they are so far. I only hope the front office doesn't get as attached to "good, not great" players as the fans do.

If u could magically aggregate EG, KJ and the Milwaukee 2023 pick into a future draft pick value, what would that be?

    im thinking late lotto.

stone needs to pull off something of this nature.

KPJ is a sixth man on a good team.

KPJ is 22 and improving. I think a lot of people see and acknowledge that. The concept is that although Green and KPJ will continue to improve they are not necessarily compatible now, or in the future. This is my personal belief. I think you essentially have to choose one to start. I don’t even think it would work with Porter at small forward…. However, this is the type of decision that can be pushed to this off-season while we wait to see what happens with the draft and what is available to us in free agency.

All great short term action items that still keeps us in the running for a high end pick this offseason without long term issues. Great thread @Shark44

Obviously I don't know what is behind the scene. I'm basically seeing the same stuff they did this season and last season. Is there improvement? Well, ball movement is better when Sengun has the ball, you'll see KJ cutting to the basket. When KPJ and JG have the ball, it's mostly iso. JG still forcing a lot of shot. KPJ is still good at scoring if he doesn't try to be a PG. We know he can score 2 years ago, so I don't know if that is improvement. Defense still suck, there is really no defensive game plan other than the game against Milwaukee. I know they play extremely hard that day for Silas but not sure if it had anything to do with Lucas. Just get another top 3 pick and see. We'll see if this is all because of tanking or the FO and/or coaching staff is just ****.
