Right on. My brother did ChemE at Rice, and MBA at UT, and I bet he'd agree.

Rice Astros err Owls fans talking early smack? Hopefully for you guys your team doesn't choke in Omaha again.

Unfortunately I don't think UT will get by Florida State in the super regional. We've had a great run and I hope it doesn't come to an end but I have to be realistic.

It obviously wasn't major enough to warrant prohibiting them from participating in the post-season.

Do you really act like this in public, or do you think that being an older more arrogant version of Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties makes you cool?

Your shtick is condescending, stupid, and is flat worn out anyway.

    I'm no rookie, number one.

I'm a 19, about to be 20 year old male in three weeks, who is 35 hours from getting a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

But by judging by your immaturity with all your CASE CLOSED, ROOKIE, and other annoying, I'm better than you are phrases, you are really the one who is the rookie, not me.

And I have heard nice things from people who meet you in real life on this very board, but yet you persist to act like an insecure, pompous ass**** whenever you get the chance on this website.

I want to know why. Really.

Btw, I just don't get why you make such a big deal of this probation because as I said earlier the infraction is minor and hasn't been discussed or is even a problem this year.

Is it jealousy that in the one sport Rice can truly compete with UT(and I rooted for Rice when they had Lance and played Miami in the CWS in the 90's mind you) they got eliminated by UT, and UT alone last year?

I like Rice, and I have no problem with most of their fans, but I have a problem with arrogant, pompous people who think they are better than everyone else because they went to a prestigious academic institution that a lot of people can't gain admission into.

I will be just as damn proud of my degree in the fall of 2004 from UT as I would had I gone to Rice or any other college institution.

It certainly doesn't make you better than me or any other UT student/graduate that you have a degree from Rice and we don't.

And for your information, I was considering Rice for college, except my passion is sports and not really science/math really at all, so I chose UT.

And btw for those following the UT bracket they have Bucknell, Arkansas and Lamar in the Austin regional.

Rice has McNeese State, Wichita State and Ole Miss in theirs.

The Aggies host Oral Roberts, UH, and Bama.

Baylor is the number 1 seed in a Mississippi regional playing Murray State, Southern, and Southern Miss.

    RM95,

I realize it isn't, but mistakes happen, and I don't care how this looks.

I know how to edit my own posts, but for some reason by accident it showed up quoted instead, and when I thought I was editing that, a third one showed up.

Nobody is perfect, and I already knew I wasn't.

Ah, nothing like a good emotional break-down to start the morning off! Don't think I've seen a 'triple post break-down before'. Props. Looks like somebody's a little sensitive to the fact that UT got busted for cheating last season. Oh well, the facts are what they are. Why do UT fans always launch into a defense of their academics whenever questioned on any topic by a Rice fan? Amusing.

The weather is great in Tallahassee this time of year. Enjoy it. It's not a bad drive either, only about 10-12 hours.

Rice's record in the College World Series is 1-6.

Prior to last season, the Big XII was winless in Omaha. The Big XII has yet to win a game in Omaha by a team that was not in *major* violation of NCAA rules. The Big XII is *winless* in 2003 against Rice. The best chance they had of beating Rice was when UT-Austin played them, but alas, Huston Street gave up a home run to Enrique Cruz and the Owls were victorious.

Baqui -- Will you be making the drive to Tallahassee? Sounds like a great way to spend 10 hours (one-way).

That's all they got. Even then, their program doesn't have near the history as UT's.

Also, the violations had nothing to do with what happened on the field. The ncaa will acknowledge as much.

yeah...there are a lot of BU people who can't stand Texas. I grew up in a UT family...chose Baylor because of a girl! I was all ready to go...had a room lined up with a friend at University Towers...but went to Baylor instead.

You made the right decision, Max. I'm not one for huge state schools, like UT-Austin.

i think you're right...i ultimately met my wife there!

but i have to say...i sure wished that baylor had the quality of athletics that UT did while I was there. i still feel a strong passion for UT sports.
