I have never broken the law in my life and do not plan on starting. The SC Justices may have something to say as to whether it is over.
Sure you do. You may not know it, but unless you're homeless, you absolutely are paying property taxes.
good luck with that Meanwhile most normal people will be working to make America better and stronger. really, you should read and heed this article Waterloo
I have been doing that since I was old enough to do so. Waterloo is the perfect analogy. I do believe you and the author of the article have it backwards. I have never in my life seen as many people upset as I have today. I have not heard a single person that is glad this monstrosity passed except on this forum.
I love confrontation. Let's have it play out. This is part of the fun... This is an unpopular legislation and all angles, slants, and perspectives deserve to be examined in extensive detail.
I am not talking about my friends. I mean everywhere I went today I had complete strangers engage me in unsolicited conversation about this. Young, old, and all colors were all against it. Actually I was rather shocked with some of the people who think this is bad and the way it was conducted was even worse. I had people who said they had voted for the Democratic candidate their entire life say they were through because the party had abandoned everything they stood for. November is going to be brutal for the Democrats.
So I have a question cml750, did any of these lifetime democrats give you any indication how the "party had abandoned everything they stood for?"
The argument here has an incredible logical fallacy. This is a tax for using healthcare like any other commodity. If every single person demonstrably used the roadways, you could put that tax anywhere (not just gasoline). Statistically speaking, essentially 100% of the citizenry in the US of A use the healthcare system at some point, especially as they near the later years of their lives. On that basis, everyone should have to support the system. If you want a clause that says "I don't work, I don't own property, I don't do anything but watch Glenn Beck reruns all day, and I will never, ever use any part of the healthcare system, even if my frozen burrito gets stuck in my esophagus," then I'm okay with you not paying. If you want to make that (ridiculous) side rule, go for it. But carwreck, heart attack, pink eye, tooth decay, you're on your own. It's a truly pathetic display of sore losership. Just move on and watch the sky not fall, and watch us save a little bit of money, and watch fewer of us DIE because they aren't insured. k?
Weird, everywhere I went today people were freaking ecstatic about it, especially those who work in the healthcare system. What are all your peeps upset about? The savings shown over time by the CBO? Giving healthcare to millions of people who currently can only use it (at our expense) at emergency rates? I mean if you're upset because Limbaugh says the sky is falling, you have earned your stomach ulcer, but I really and truly don't get it otherwise. It's a relatively modest step toward a more sane system.
