Remember, many essential business such as large manufacturing factories have stayed open during this lockdown. Hundreds of workers have continued to come in to work in factories, but they do things like take temperatures, social distance, disinfect several times per day, and contact trace if somebody or a contact of someone is suspected to have the virus. It’s worked quite well.

if people do these things, we should even look to reopen faster than the governor is suggesting.

Houston/Harris county now has more Coronavirus cases than 26 states. We have more deaths in our area than 36 states.
That's a lot in a much smaller geographical area.

    I actually agree with you....

But there is one fatal flow in your plan...

In order to do contact trace we have to TEST and right now that has been the biggest hurdle....

The feds should be trying to test everyone, especially those who think they are healthy and have not had the virus...

Testing hasn’t been a problem, although only those with symptoms have been getting tested. Testing everybody seems extreme if social distancing, disinfecting, and masks are all in place.

Sorry sir.. But that is the biggest problem....

Testing everyone should be the upmost importance.... People are acting as if everything is A OK... All it takes is one person that is infected and doesn't know it down in Florida and the virus will catch like wild fire...

The implementations that Dr. Fauci has been preaching about has helped to keep the situation under some what of a mild control... But to let me people just go out without being tested is like playing Russian Roulette...

Read the CDC guidance on how the virus spreads, rookie. The virus spreads by symptomatic people transmitting the virus through respiratory droplets. Coughing/sneezing on people or surfaces that others touch and then touch their face. That's the guidance, and you are certainly in no position to dispute it.

so you advocate testing every single person in the country? That’s way overboard.

    we need practical solutions

Wrong. Asymptomatic people can spread it too.

Im pretty sure that is not what he was disputing. There has been clarification from a thousand sources that there were shortages of testing for SYMPTOMATIC people Do you not remember 3 weeks ago showing the amount of testing being done in Korea versus here? They had the first reported case on the same day.

No amount of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obfuscation on your part will deny that. But I'm sure somewhere will appreciate your CDC tidbit about transmission of the virus. Take that pat on the back buddy for the super premium post. LOL

Some recent studies suggest this MAY be possible (maybe, maybe not), but we know for sure that the virus spreads by symptomatic people transmitting it via respiratory droplets. My statement stands. And the asymptomatic transmissions, if they even exist, are going to be a tiny fraction of the total.

    From your article

No one can truly determine the impact of asymptomatic cases on spread until there's more testing. But so far, they have made up a sliver of the total number of people who've tested positive.

"Can those people who are completely asymptomatic, who never develop any symptoms, transmit the infection? That's still kind of an open question,
