wow, how did we horn fans allow some fool to get us to turn on each other here??? we should use our venom against OU! Its 5:31 and OU still sucks! edit: its been a while since I graduated, but is there a ceremony on the north mall this week?
Name another player that is more underrated in the history of sports? First off, Simms is probably overrated, not underrated. Second...in the HISTORY OF SPORTS! Jeez. As far as underappreciated...I'm not convinced of that either. I think he's treated pretty good for someone who singlehandedly blew a shot at a national championship.
Yeah, the guy who roughed the punter or our porous run defense that game had nothing to do with blowing our shot to go to the Rose Bowl.
Your defense typically suffers when they're constantly on the field due to turnovers. Never should've come down to one play.
Anyone see the interview with Trent Smith? If you did, he sure represents one thing: THE LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE OF THE AVERAGE OKLAHOMA STUDENT
Oh my god! Is that how he got the starting job at UT, by being underrated and underappreciated? Wasn't he the #1 rated offensive recruit in the nation by USA Today? Poor Chris Simms! All those meanies hating on him for no reason... other than his performance of course.
I said in Texas... by that I meant the fans, not the media. If you want to see an evaluation of Simms by the media, check out this article from Gary Danielson today. http://espn.go.com/ncf/columns/danielson/1439557.html
Wait a minute .... How is a QB who's leading a 41st ranked offense, who is #47 in Passing Efficiency, and nowhere near the top of the charts in yards, yards per attempt, yards per completion, completion percentage or any other passing stat *under*rated? Keep in mind that over the last decade with Shea Morenz, James Brown, and Major Applewhite, we've always been a top-15 or so offense and the QB's always have had fairly high ratings, without nearly as good receivers and often without nearly as good a running back. Also keep in mind that many of those years were under the same coaching staff. Our offense sucks this year. Whether you want to blame Simms, the running game, the receivers, the OLine, Greg Davis or whatever is up to you. But there's no way any player on the UT offense is *underrated* right now; certainly not Simms, given that he still gets talk as being one of the premier QBs around.
It ain't Simms this year. It's his receivers who think that all it takes is talent to catch a ball and his coaches. Simms has been great this year, IMO. He is the most underappreciated player on the team and in recent memory. How many times did you see "Richard Walton Sucks" spraypainted on a ****ing overpass?
You posted this at 5:30. And Simms UNDER-rated?!?!?? What has he done to be underrated? He's the most over-hyped player in a looooong time....He's still a good QB, but UNDER-rated? Come On!
