Not totally different, at all. You all go too much by the numbers. He was different in the CU game, of course, but outside of that I didn't see much of a difference. The only difference in him that I saw in last year's OU game was that there were too many defenders downfield, because Greg Davis didn't even try to run the football. So if everyone decides to jump off a building, you're going to do it too? Just because something is widely used doesn't mean it's right.
simms is a joke and OU will win ..I have never seen so many people jock such a non proven piece of crap.. I saw the game on saturday and can simms complete a pass further then 4 yards?? I am not talking about the receivers that catch it 4 yards out then run it for 10 or so..i am asking what I feel to be a valid question...can he throw it further then 10 yards?? seriously this guy is the ryan leif of college as far as on the field.. who wants a friendly wager because after I won on the texans defeat of the cowboys I wasnt and still havent been able to collect and I am not going to make the same mistake with you blind UT fans who have the same style as the dallas cowboy fan cat sometimes your failure to see whats true and in front of you is hard to believe.. i like your bold opinions but your spurs and UT takes are hilarious.. I am going for OU only because I cant wait to see all you UT people be brought to reality.. I am from texas but jesus i cant take stupidity I have never really formally wagered on sports but betonsports.com is looking real tempting right now lets see if i eat my words and I havent even seen a single OU game.. but number 2 ?? please
Umm, have you ever played football? The coaches are the ones calling the plays. Our main issue is poor playcalling, and when all the primary receivers are running these short curl routes, what can Simms do? The only reason you find my takes "hilarious" on those two teams is that you don't like them. End of story. If you want to bet, please bet everything you can, so that Chris Simms can teach you a lesson you won't forget. I've never been so sure of a player, and a game, as I am in Simms and Texas this weekend. Also, winning ten games in a season (something Major never did) and being the all-time leader in school touchdown passes should mean something. (please, don't tell me TD's dont matter unless you agreed with the earned INT assessment I gave earlier) Simms has been a good quarterback and a great asset to the University, and probably better than any other player in his class to the program, including Cory Redding. The only problem is that he is the QB, so he receives the blame when they lose. Chris Simms in Texas is probably the most underrated and underappreciated player that has ever existed in sports.
thank you so much for both quotes. greg davis gets on my nerves. and even though i still prefer Major over Chris (maybe b/c my college years are affiliated with Major), i still wholeheartedly believe the second statement. don't you just love it when people talk smack about a football game when they've never seen one side play?
okay then we have a friendly wager?? I agree to come here and praise your team if I lose.. will you do the same? yeah you are right i dont agree with your takes on the spurs or the horns
Name another one. I'm not saying he's right, but Simms is extremely underappreciated by a bunch of fickle fans.
i truly have no idea who you're talking about from last year. I think Chris Simms is the most underrated and underappreciated longhorn of the past 10 years (from what I can remember) and i'm not even a Simms guy!
Of course. Basically, all I want is this. If Chris Simms comes out Saturday and throws for 250 yards, 3 TD's, and 0 INT's, I just hope that the UT fans will still consider it a big game and not change their tune to "OU's overrated". If he has a bad game, I will definitely be here to admit I was wrong, or defend him if the numbers are misleading. (If Simms had 3 INT's and 0 TD's, but two were on hail mary's and three receivers dropped wide open touchdowns on him, I will most certainly dispute that stat, for example) BTW, Smokey, assuming you were talking about Major, you would've thought he was the greatest quarterback in the history of college football if you went by the opinions of UT fans after the Big XII game last year.
Do I need to spell it out? M-a-j-o-r I'm talking about under...Major rescued Mack's butt once, nearly twice after being benched.
