Unfortunately, here in NYC we're getting Wake Forest vs. FSU.. gross. Is there any way to watch/listen to the game online?
well, we were .0019 behind florida, hopefully the weak showing will drop them in the human rankings and combined with the louisville defeat... maybe, just maybe we can jump to #3 in the bcs i'll settle for 4th though, florida still has big games to choke on, and michigan should be dropped after they lose... i hope
The only way Florida will go in the human rankings this week is up. Louisville and Auburn both lost, so both will drop below Florida. Assuming UT wins and stays ahead of florida, Florida will be either #4 or #5, depending on what USC does. Even if Florida loses, we still need more to happen.. Arkansas is looking pretty freaking good right now. If they win out in dominating fashion with their remaining schedule (#13 Tenn tonight, Miss St., #12 LSU, and #6 Florida in the SEC title game), it would be hard to argue with them playing for the NC. It'd also be hard to argue with USC if they win out- they still play #23 Oregon tonight, #8 (but sure to drop) Cal, #9 Notre Dame, and UCLA. Meanwhile we have unranked K-state, a soon to be unranked A&M, and a possibly unranked Nebraska in the Big 12 title game. Plus Oklahoma may lose to Tech tonight, which may leave us without a single win over a team that ends the season ranked. ugh. I guess we'll just have to see if the easier schedule benefits us with wins, or if it burns us with the computer rankings.
Nothing is being mentioned about Florida playing 300th W. Carolina. That's gonna drop them in the computer polls.
I could be wrong, but I think I-AA teams are completely ignored in the computers. This is because they aren't ranked with the I-A teams so it's impossible to judge just how good/bad those teams are. It will be as though they didn't even play a game. (at least, that's how I think it works)
I think it depends on the computers. Some of the computers don't consider I-AA teams while others do so in a more limited fashion. But yes you are right, it really won't impact Florida very much.
Sagarin's ratings consider the strength of I-AA opponents. Not sure of the others. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt06.htm
Excellent! The more the merrier. By biggest worry right now (besides Colt McCoy) would be Arkansas. If they run the table (and I think they could), they'd have a fantastic case, closing against Tennessee, LSU, and Florida.
yeah..looked like his head snapped back a bit when diving over the goal line for the TD. he looked OK on the sidelines, later...so i'm kinda surprised he's not in yet.
Hopefully he's ok.. It looks like Snead is really stinking up the place. 0/3 and taking a sack on 3rd down.. not good.
From a Gator: Glad to see the last few posts were rational, unlike the other 'Texas r0x0rz & Florida sux0rz' stuff. Our NARROW win was not good, and I think playing Auburn would be better than Arkansas. We'll move up in the polls but strength of schedule slides. Should be interesting to see what the computers calculate. I can't complain either way if we stayed at 4 or moved to 3. And for those who mentioned we play West Carolina, yeah it should be a mulligan. But it's ONE game. Our overall schedule is still pretty tough for the season. Some of you act like Texas has played top 25 teams all year. And for those who think it was a lucky win, we've had at least one blocked punt/fg/extra point almost every game. In fact I think we've had two in half our games. I'm not surprised at all. But you're a fool if you're guaranteeing anything now. We've had plenty of surprises so far, and it's not over yet. I'll still be on the edge of my seat for FSU and the SEC finals.
No one thinks UT has played top 25 teams all year. it's just that with only a few games left, UT is about a thousandth of a point behind Florida, and one of Florida's remaining games is against West Carolina. that's all. so there is SOME reason to believe that could help UT. I don't think anyone is disrespecting Florida. Everyone knows they're legit. Arkansas should scare the hell out of you, though. They look really impressive. They may end up jumping everyone.
and then, just for good measure, they go for the sneak again with our backup QB. I'd call that an unnecessary risk. At least they wised up and gave it to Jamal on 3rd down. and to professorjay: don't get caught looking past FSU, but you guys better prepare yourselves for Arkansas.. they're looking really strong tonight. McFadden is a BEAST. good luck.
i sure am glad they didn't review that catch that obviously hit the ground that would've made it 3rd and 10. somehow we have a camera angle clearly show it in 5 seconds but the review booth somehow couldn't overturn it. and damn our D is sucking. with a new qb they need to step up and not give up 32 yard screen TD's. and what a terrible angle marcus griffin took on that tackle, i have no idea where he was running.
Respect. Believe me, I'm defnitely not counting Florida as automatic for anything. Not even close. Like I said in another thread, playing FSU is like a 'voodoo' game; it always has me worried no matter how good/bad either of us are. And whoever we play in the SEC finals is going to be another dogfight. Wow, Kansas St. threatening Texas...
wow, this is ugly.. Snead still o-fer and then we give up a huge punt return. If Colt doesn't come back..
