Maybe that's not so bad. Giving up this many points to K-State, I'm not sure too many of these guys would help us out next year. I know they're hurt but this is Kansas State. Another question: How many times can UT's defenders fall for the RB pass or WR pass?
I also wonder why we don't blitz more to cover for the poor zone coverage. Play em man to man.....get to the QB fast and you are good to go....Buddy Ryan style. DD
I root for UM and Rutgers now. USC cornerback just recieved the dirtiest stiff arm I've seen all year. Go Ducks!!!!!!!! Edit: Is anyone else worried about how many yards passing Japorky Lane is gonna get on T+1????
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pig sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooiiiieeeeeeeee Razorbacks!
A great day for all of the UT haters. Enough of all this everyone wants to see an Ohio State vs. Texas rematch, I think what people really want to see Troy Smith, Ted Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez take on Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardzija and Rhema McKnight. Explosive vs. explosive, Heisman winner vs. runner up. With UT and Auurn and Louisville out of it this week, and Florida looking questionable, and will probably lose to Arkansas, it looks like the winner of Notre Dame/USC will play Ohio State. In the end it'll probably be mute point, the Buckeyes aren't losing this yr to anybody.
is it possible for OSU and UMich to play in the BCS title game? say if everybody loses two games, but either michigan or ohio state has that one loss from playing each other, can they mathmatically still wind up 1 and 2 in the BCS?
This was willing to catch up to UT eventually. They squeaked out wins against Tech and Nebraska with some calls and the ball bouncing their way on turnovers. It finally caught up to them just like it did to USC earlier this year. I still think the Aggies have a good chance at beating them next game with or without Colt as well.
Well I suppose you can only come back from 21 down so many times and expect to win them all. It probably would’ve been cooler to just lose it 49-28 or something instead of knowing we had several chances to pull it off and had 2 drives we could’ve tied it on and failed and also had a chance to stop them before that fg to put it away. I know we got the fake punt and a blocked punt to set up 2 TD’s, but I can’t imagine how much more could’ve gone wrong in this game. And that’s not even including the ****ty pass defense, because that’s just assumed at this point. Our best player gets knocked out of the game on the very first drive as we score a TD. It’s even worse to think if we could’ve gained one freakin’ yard on 3 plays we never would’ve had to run that play. So now we’ve got a true freshman qb playing the whole game. Snead sails passes all over the place and, while the offensive line wasn’t doing very well, he is like the anti-mccoy when the pocket breaks down. It’s like he’s magically pulled into the pressure instead of away. I mean on that 3 man rush sack, he already had time to throw, then a DL spins off our OL and snead steps up and to the left directly into it, when going back, to the right, or just standing still would’ve probably all avoided it. Just amazing. Just not confident in the pocket at all, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re a true freshman and you just get thrown in there after an injury. Selvin and Jamaal fumble a lot as it is but did they each have to add one to their tally in this game? Jamaal right as we’re taking momentum back and about to take the lead. Selvin right after (as soon as he lowered his shoulder and hit the guy I expected to see the ball come out). We get a punt blocked for the first time in I can’t remember how long. We give up a 52 yard punt return even though we’ve been covering punts like beasts this whole year. We run the ugliest looking reverse, wide receiver pass in history, which includes our WR leaping over a lineman) but cosby ends up pulling it off well enough to hit our all-conference wide receiver directly in the hands as he’s standing still and he drops it. ksu apparently has a kicker who can kick 51 yard field goals right down the middle with 10 yards to spare. And that was set up with a 15 yard punt returner interference call that could be the difference in them kicking the FG and punting. you know ryan palmer sucks at covering passes but he makes up for it by sucking at covering punts, too. Hell we couldn’t even kick the onside kick 10 yards. Just a cluster**** of errors combined with your starting qb going down and your secondary sucking balls and that’s how you lose. It was a nice ride. I would much rather lose this game than have lost to ou or lose to a&m coming up. I can’t even imagine how I’ll feel if we blow it to a&m at home and end the 6 year streak. That would make the entire feel-good season turn to crap and not be good going into next year when we lose so many good players. Beat a&m, somehow beat Nebraska, and maybe only have to play boise st. and get a 3rd straight bcs win, that wouldn’t be a bad year. Before I knew how good mccoy would be, I would’ve taken that for this year in a heartbeat. Mccoy’s awesomeness has kinda cancelled out with the D’s suckiness. And if he plays today, the O most likely scores enough to win it (especially since the D only gave up 3 points in the final 20 minutes), but that’s how it goes. We had our miracle with Nebraska and another huge comeback against tech.
I agree. Notre Dame is a fraud. I'm not crazy about USC either. Besides my Gators (cause it's my school!), I'd rather see Arkansas if they win out or the loser of OSU/Mich. I'd hate to see a rematch of OSU/Mich, but to be honest if we're talking about 1-loss teams and they have a close game, the loser still has a good argument to make the title game. If they would've played each other the first game of the season OSU/Mich would be the clear favorites for the title game. Oh, to answer your question Kam, it is still possible for OSU to actually play Mich for the title.
we blitz all the time and it never works. basically ever. the blitz never just gets a man coming free at the qb, and as soon as that doesn't happen, we get picked apart. they throw it to a guy coming across the line where the LB's just were or they throw it a guy just 5 or 10 yards down the field since we back off 1000 yards on blitzes. if we're going to blitz, we may as well try and jump and route and get a pick 6. i know our secondary sucks anyway and might get burnt, but they get burnt anyway, at least that has a chance for something positive. i hate seeing us blitz because it's just been a very bad strategy this year the way we execute it. we blitzed and got killed in the baylor game as well and when we didn't blitz we stopped them pretty well. also, what did everyone think of that last play call by kstate, the pass on the 3rd down with the bad spot. was that the stupidest play call anyone has ever seen? they could have run it or taken a knee and they might have had to punt with 10 seconds left and us with no timeouts. instead, they drop back, almost get sacked (if the the blitzing LB doesn't go for the rb he probably just drills the qb, possible forcing a fumble), they throw it to the sidelines, and not to a wide receiver. they left themselves open to so much going wrong. what if the qb gets hit and fumbles? what if the fluttery little pass gets picked off because it's going to the sidelines and slow and we take it to the house. what if as the guy catching it is spinning to catch it, he bobbles it forward to our db who takes it back? hell, what if the guy just drops it (and it wasn't a great pass so he could've)? we get the ball with about 35-40 seconds left down 3. all for the chance to avoid punting with 10 seconds left (and they still should've had to punt). granted passing on us is easy, but for my money that's a monumentally stupid and risky call to make in that situation with little to no upside.
Apparently Colt had a stinger and could have played. He even warmed up at the start of the 3rd quarter. If he was pretty healthy...they should have let him give it a go.... DD
Guess maybe a stinger could be something more serious and it's safer to keep him out rather than risk his health. Just college football. Glad to hear it was just a stinger though, then news I wacthed this morning implied he could be out for the season. They shouldn't postualte if they don't have any info.
