WHo cares? It's not like Snead would have been able to score a TD in 15 seconds. He would have probably gotten sacked and then game over.
Good win by Kansas State. Texas had flirted with blowing one of these games all year and it caught up with them. This is similar to USC's loss earlier in the year to Oregon State. The Horns showed some character in coming back late, but they just made too many mistakes in the end. I guess I would be more concerned by the defense. For all of that talk that it was on par to be as good as the 1983 team, they seem pretty mediocre in some facets. Anyway, that was a good game.
I wasn't rolling my eyes at UT losing, but you acting like you predicted something special was silly. Regardless, good to see K-State back again.
Yeah.....but it would have been fun to watch...... I kind of blame the UT coaches for not getting Snead a bit more work in some of the other games.....he clearly needed it. DD
Wow....Honestly, I thought you guys were gonna pull it out. I expected a tease like I had with Tech and with Nebraska. But I assumed ya'll would pull it out. UT definately has athletes all over the field. Definately no lead is safe. Shows a lot about the Big 12 that even their mid tier teams can pull off the shocker. Anyway its been a heck of a run for the men in Orange.
Who said that?? Very different teams. The offense is definitely better now, but the defense in '83 was incredible.
Good game by K-State. McCoy better be healthy for A&M and (if we win) the CCG. BCS in his first year was my hope and it's still alive. I wonder how this will be portrayed. If an SEC team loses to a lower ranked opponent, it's because the conference is so tough. If a Big-12 team loses to a lower ranked opponent, it shows how overrated they are. Go figure.
Had greg davis just opened it up and let Jevan play the outcome would be different....texas would have lost by seven touchdowns.
Also, don't forget to root for Houston's OWN men in orange, the Dynamo, tomorrow!!!!! They go for the championship tomorrow against New England. 2:30 on ABC.
And not being able to move the ball because the QB looks like the freshman that he is doesn't help field position. Snead threw 17 incomplete passes in this game - McCoy threw 16 incomplete passes his last 2 games + 1 series combined en route to over 650 yards and 7 TDs. Colt also had only taken 12 sacks the first 10 games of the season - I don't know how many Jevan took, but it was more than 1 or 2. Mack/Greg D deserve a lot of flack for putting Colt in that position. We were so successful last year pounding Melton 2-3 times last year once we got inside the 3 or so; I don't understand why we'd use Selvin Young in short yardage situations multiple times, forcing us to that 4th down... Aaron Ross gets burnt a lot. Our secondary was awful, and Ryan Palmer with the 2 special teams hits before the fair catch was inexcusable. Speaking of special teams - why did we not get more pressure on the field goal that ultimately won the game? That would usually be a Michael Griffin specialty... Lil Pun - If you throw enough mud at a wall eventually it sticks. How many games this season have you predicted UT to lose? Probably every one of them.
I would just like to shift focus on the elephant in the room. Our Pass D is horrible!!! Blame Akina and Chzik for not fixing and preparing the DB's. I can't wait to see the passing numbers we give up when only 1 starter (ma. griffin) returns next year.
Good point, that's true. Texas D still allowed 31 points from Kansas State, which still isn't that great. BTW, I'm glad California lost. That idiot analyst (actually they all are) who's on w/ Lou Holtz kept guaranteeing Cali to make the title game. Of course he'll pretend he never made that prediction just like he does every week. Why is he still on TV?
He is a robot. The Lou Holtz 2.0. He uses the same argument each week and all they have to do is plug in a new team.
Yeah, he was looking a little better at the end...the last drive he was 5 of 9 for 88 yards. Looked like he was finding a little rythym; iirc it took Colt at least a couple of games to get rid of happy-feet.
Such a shock... seems like they focused on improving the run D which has been our weakness in the past and somehow we ended up mighty thin in the secondary.
