this game is over if UT's o-line can't turn it around in a hurry. they are getting abused and embarrassed so far..
lol, VY shows what us Houstonians already knew, he's freaking superman. I hope his ankle is okay, because he is our only hope. Even Greg Davis can't hold him back. By the way, props to our D. No mugging and a decent job. Our DBs were getting beat, but it's all good. We won a big game, damnit.
eh, I don't know about that. It depends on VY's health, and even then, I wouldn't be confident enough to talk trash after this game, I'd just be glad that we probably won't get embarrassed and have a much better chance to win.
This coming from the guy who was worried that his gum-chewing would increase the chances of him getting fecal matter in his mouth in the men's room.
I just wanted to preserve this quote before Clutch turns the edit function back on. This is so sad it's funny. Hopefully your man crush will lead to a relationship that lasts past next Saturday...
o man...what a game ....was there and had about 3 heart attacks...i hope VY either starts or gets in a lot faster next week assuming hes ok....HOOK EM AND DALLAS HERE WE COME!! David
RIET, Can I have the honor? I have wanted to do it for so long. Anyways on the game, Great defense. Reese's gameplan shut down the KSU option game. They only gave up 20 because of poor field position in the 2nd half. Now to the offense. Greg Davis almost blew another big game for us yet again. After a nice 1st half where we led 17-3 at the break, and got the ball 1st in the 3rd quarter we had everything lined up for the knockout blow. But this abomination of an offensive coordinator instead insists on running draw plays against a speed defense, and WR screens against aspeed defense. While we could have made KSU pay for bringing everyone up by torching them deep with Roy, BJ, Sloan, Bo and David Thomas. But no, as usual in a tough game when the going gets tough Greg Davis wants to run and hide. Also, there is no more QB controversy in my eyes. Vince Young is flat out better. He should start. I don't want to hear Chance Mock hasn't done anything to lose the job or that he knows he playbook better, etc. Vince Young gives us the best chance to win. Mock doesn't even have any pocket sense for christ sakes. Memo to Chance: when you evade the rush and get outside the tackles do what Vince did and throw it in the stands. But anyways, at least we won, and hopefully next week in Dallas will produce a game for the ages. HOOK EM!
I'm not crazy enough to think we can defeat OU. In fact, I'm expecting to get a severe beat down at the hand of Stoops and gang.
Wow. Got back from the game just a little while ago. That was awesome. Haven't been to a game in Austin in over 15 years...this one was worth it.
Heard him on the radio after the game, said it was OK, like a basketball sprain. He didn't mention it again and was in great spirits.
Both TJ and Vincent said that K State was showing him no respect and were doubling up on the other 2 receivers...
DV, Fully agree on Mock. Thus far, I have felt he is very overrated based on everything that was written and said about him. I find it absolutely amazing that he was considered to have good ability to scramble and a strong arm. In the two biggest games thus far Mock has had several throws batted down and been unable to read the blitz. I am hoping that VY is healthy enough next week and gets the start against OU b/c that is what this team needs to have a shot imo. As far as Greg Davis, I have been less than impressed thus far with his game plan. During the first offensive drives against Arkansas and K-State I was amazed at the amount of variety in the offensive attack and thought he finally developed some creativity but then as the two games wore on, it was steadily downhill. It seems this season as the game wears on and the pressure tightens, Davis reverts back to his conservative style. However, if Vincent Young is at the controls, Im not too concerned, his ability to improvise will enable him to domiate even with Greg Davis's crappy game plan.
