Taking what the defense gives you, is probably the reason why UT loses in big games. Too many 5 yard passes on 3rd and 8, etc. UT will need to run the ball and smash KSU's front 7 in the mouth and establish a LOS dominance. There is no secret involved, and nor should there be when you have blue chippers along the OL. UT has had a "take what they give us" attitude for too long under the Mack era. The only thing top-notch teams are giving UT is an ass whipping thus far. That idea/mindset should go out the window, after Greg Davis and Carl Reese jump out of said window. UT should be able to do what they want offensively to 90% of its opponents, rather than maybe 60%. If UT doesn't come out doing what they want to do on offense and defense, chalk up another loss for Mack.
Arrogant...check. That precise attitude is why Texas loses to "inferior" teams. Wooo, we have great facilities. We recruit better than 99% of the nation. We live in the best city. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Until the University of Texas lines up and plays this Arkansas team and WINS, they are not a more talented TEAM. You're logic implies that the Portland Trailblazers are better than San Antonio. Because they have/had more talent than the Spurs. Is that true? Of course not. Football is a TEAM sport. No matter how much spin you try to break this into, Arkansas has a more talented football team. Why? Because they won. Now, if this was a track meet and we lined up all of the Texas players and the Arkansas players and measured to see who, collectively, has the fastest 100m times, or longest discus throws...Texas would probably dominate (although, Arkansas is the most dominating force in the country when it comes to Track and Field) There. See. All of those 5 star recruits ARE good for something. Just give it up. It was not a FLUKE. It was not a case of the cosmos alligning just right for the Razorbacks. It was a football game, played fairly and even.
Noone said it was a fluke. As far as best public school in the southwest, best city, recognizable players, etc., what can we do? We're Texas. Top ten football, baseball, basketball, women's basketball, softball, good swimming program, competitive soccer program and Andy Roddick lives here. And ocelot, the fans' attitude has nothing to do with the players. We may have blown arkansas off, but that has nothing to do with the players' performance. They underestimated you; their fault.
there will be a time where your university will be down as well. When that time comes, I'll remember it. I won't give you ****, because I know that I still graduated from UT and I live in Texas, but there will be a moment where your school will also underachieve and be 9-3. Stoops won't be there forever. Money talks, and OU doesn't have alot of that.
Really? Isn't he the highest paid college coach? Hasn't he turned down numerous top coaching jobs? What's wrong with what Corso said? Isn't it true?
"We bleed orange and crap purple." BEST sign out there! I was so psyched about this game, I couldn't sleep. I woke up at 6am (which actually is "sleeping in" for me, by a few hours). Hook 'em baby!
Oh, and a big fat to Alberts and May for calling us "pretenders" and "soft" Time to prove them wrong over the next 2 weeks. (gulp)
What I find funny is how UT fans complain so vehemently about other teams doing the "horns down" and how classless that is. Yet on national tv for gameday this morning there are "OU Sucks" signs. OU's not even playing in the game!! Can you say hypocrite? ...and what's with the "Corso is thick in the pants" sign? Was that needed?
Why is it that most of the people in this topic are b****ing rather than talking about football? Jackasses
Am I the only one experiencing really poor audio quality from ABC? My rear speakers are sounding scratchy. All other stations seem find, but not ABC.
Anybody watching the Alabama v Georgia game? It's freaking HILARIOUS!!! I mean Alabama has ****ed up EVERYTHING. Georgia check list: Blocked punt (check) Fumble return on kickoff (check) Make fools of Alabama (double check) What a funny game to watch.
Oh, and zero first downs for Alabama. Like 16 plays (and half of them were punts). 12 total yards. Georgia has like 200 total yards. ROLL TIDE ROLL!! Oh and to add injury to insult, QB Croyle injured his shoulder again.
You know what's not fair? Not giving the ball to Roy, not passing downfield, and giving up on playing Vince 1/3, not showing confidence in Vince to let him pass, etc.
