Well it had to be before the formation of the big XII, because I recall them saying Tech is 9-3 against A&M since the start.
2nd biggest joke of the day came from Mr. Guarantee himself Jorvorskie Lane guaranteed a victory over Texas Tech in Lubbock earlier in the week, and after he and his team lost he said, "I was really happy, I go into somebody else's house, and they are chanting bad things about me; I must be doing something good on the football field. It was nothing to me. More like the total opposite, your this pro style back and got out rushed by your quarterback and our unknown running back style. Keep your mouth shut and let the game do the talking for you. The past two times you have tried to open your mouth, it makes your team look that bad later on. Your not doing nothing right, your just being foolish and its fun to make fun of the fool.
No...they weren't. I was in school from 1991 to 1996. We may have lost to Tech once in that time span. When we were winning SWC championships damn near every year and laying waste to people. Baylor at that time, was an awful program.
When I was in school, we were beating them silly every year. I believe that the year before I got there (1990) we tied...but after that, the beatdown began.
That's fair. I don't really know when it was that they became the doormat of the conference. I do know when A&M started rolling over them.
Any Tech fans making the trip up here to Missouri this weekend? Should be fun... if ever there's a potential 70-63 final score, it would be this game. 2:30 on ABC.
T Rex was a pitcher @ Baylor 89-93. Ask him. IIRC, don't talk about what you don't know, son. There is no way in hell I would've known Tech would constantly beat ATM's ass, nor was there a chance T Rex would've known that Baylor would become the the red-headed step child of the Big 12 as it has become. Fact is Baylor is still a better degree than Tech. But I still loathe saying it.
Actually, Baylor was ranked #8 at the time and subsequently lost to the Rice Owls at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco... 10/12/1991 The 8th ranked, 5-0 Baylor Bears of coach Grant Teaff came home to Waco to meet the 2-2 Rice Owls of coach Fred Goldsmith. This would be Rice’s first Belt shot & they would make it a successful one. Rice PK Darrell Richardson kicked a 33-yard field goal with 2:39 left & Bears PK Jeff Ireland missed 3 field goal attempts in the 2nd half as the Owls claimed The Belt with a 20-17 upset of the champions.
I just told you for a FACT that A&M beat Baylor that year 34-12, SON. Do you work at being an abrasive jerk, or is it a gift? Nobody knew that would happen. Actually, there was great concern that a lone private school (Baylor) would not compete in the Big XII, powered by large, public schools. There was concern that Baylor would become the Vanderbilt of the Big XII...and that is exactly what has happened. Take your history lesson and learn.
Who are you trying to prove? I really have nothing, both your infantile resposnse combined with history says it all. Enjoy yourt bashing. It'll happen if you keep letting this go. And I, personally require one w**** week,.
this happens every year. tt routs a few teams, becomes ranked, only to lose to ou and ut - but this year is different right?
TTU can't compete with UT/OU's recruiting, they probably never will. However, A&M is supposed to be 'right there' with UT as an athletics program, and yet TTU continues to PWN them...questions?
Don't mean to derail this thread (yeah right ), but you know what my favorite thing about Baylor is??? George's I swear to God, Mohammed and Buddah....I don't get to Waco very often, but each and every time I am there, no matter what time of year, I absolutely have to go to George's. And, on a college football Saturday, that place freaking rocks, with the back room and lots of big screens with every game on. I've only been there on college football Saturday when Baylor has been on the road...I imagine when there is a Baylor home game that place is freaking insane. And yes, I've had a "Big O".
