Why is Texas Tech ranked so high in the BCS? I actually heard they were 7th, not 8th. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
There are only 7 undefeated teams, and Tech is ranked below 2 1-loss teams. I'm not sure how much lower you want them to be? I think they should be below UCLA, but outside of that, I don't see how you don't leave them in the top 10.
Not only will Texas have another win over a team that will be top 10 when they play, Tech might not lose another game.
Are they better than Notre Dame? Ohio State? You could go on and on. Simply beating up on terrible teams shouldn't automatically put you in the top 10.
At this point in the season, they've done nothing to show that they aren't. As the season progresses and more teams play and everyone plays good teams, they'll be ranked differently. The BCS is a compilation of what a team looks like (polls) and how a team has performed (computers). So far, Tech has beaten everyone they've faced - most of them convincingly. Notre Dame and Ohio State haven't - they've both lost twice. How can you justify putting a team that has 2 losses out of 6 games above a team that has yet to lose (and played decent, if not good teams, in K-State and Nebraska).
I absolutely HATE it when Tech alumns post here, call radio shows, brag to friends - whatever - about how good our team is and how badly we are going to beat another team, BEFORE we even play them. Its bullsh!t..... This is the Longhorns for chrissake. The matchup will be good or lopsided in Texas' favor. It makes us look like a bunch of idiots when loudmouth alumns go off about our team that hasn't proved they can beat Texas in Austin. Stay humble Tech fans.

Looks like the TTech / Texas game is the biggest game this weekend. ESPN is sending the Gameday crew to Austin to cover the game. Even though Corso and Herbstreit are idiots its nice to see the Horns and tech for that matter get some national attention.
You are a model fan - I wish I could say I am this level-headed. BTW, I am still waiting on "Nomad Jim" to accept my bet or not. I would have never guessed him to be the type who couldn't nut up when the chips are down.
Maybe because the teams they lost to were all better than Tech? Why don't you ask the AP voters and ESPN that question - they both have 2-loss ND ahead of "undefeated" Tech.
I love Texas Tech, but Tech beat Nebraska by luck. Texas is on a whole different level than Nebraska. The Red Raiders line will get destroyed. Texas will win by 30+.
tech fans are confident after playing this awful of a schedule???? seriously who in the HELL have you played that is anywhere near the caliber team of texas??? was it sam houston state, Florida International, or Indiana State? if you thought that win in nebraska on the road was impressive, you have a sad version of reality. you had a better team last year and lost by 31 AT HOME to Texas. I expect Texas Tech to be brought back to the real world after this weekend. Texas by AT LEAST 21 points....
It seems like all Raiders are like that. They have a good program and will continue to get better, but I can't stand how gung-ho they are about their team right now. THEY HAVN'T PROVEN ANYTHING YET so stop talking about upsetting Texas and going to the National Championships when we're the first and only good team you are going to play this year.
Since when has ANY college football fan done that? Texas fans never stopped talking crap before the OU game the last 5 years either. What Tech fan is talking about a national championship anyway?
