I only regret that he wont be there for the Anne Hathaway plunger style beatdown Texas will give the Raiders during Week 3. Other than that.... Jajajajajajaj!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, but this is just a stupid comment. Since 86, we have had a winning program. Leach has done more than previous coaches, but we've never been bottom feeders, either. We did go to 5 bowl games in the 90's, and Tech is the ONLY team in the Big XII to have ended every season with a winning record. Pretty sure Leach wasn't around when the league formed.
I don't count a winning record as "diddly-dick". Tech 'never a bottom feeder'? LOL. Sorry fatty. I believe your glass of koolaid has arrived.
Tech, pre-Leach for 20 years: 1986 Independence, Mississippi 17-20 L 1989 All-American, Duke 49-21 W 1993 Sun, Oklahoma 10-41 L 1994 Cotton, USC 14-55 L 1995 Copper, Air Force 55-41 W 1996 Alamo, Iowa 0-27 L 1998 Independence, Mississippi 18-35 L 2-5 in bowls.... going further back, had a bowl-less streak from '78-86. since leach, tech has been to a bowl every year and is 5-4 under him. i think it is safe to say that pre-leach tech has done exactly diddly dick compared to leach-era tech. don't play like you wouldn't miss him.
Tech is undefeated in Bowl Games during the time that I was enrolled there. If they lose Leach, I'll go back and everything will be okay.
go back to 2000 they have dropped % wise. so if they actually play for a good 5 years at the rate they have been going its possible. i dont see that happening though i think they will pick things up in my opinion. college football winning percentage
Ummm...I can tell you that A&M was pretty good from 1990-1995. I was there (1991-1995) and witnessed the "Domination in College Station" years. Then there was the Big XII championship season in 1998. We were good for quite a while.
Arguably their best season during that time, though, they were bowl ineligible.... hence the Texas Tech appearance in the Cotton Bowl in '94 (otherwise known as the year everybody tied). Of course, not being able to go to a Bowl just saved them the embarrassment of losing in a Bowl that year. I believe they lost three straight Cotton Bowls during the time in question.
I think you contradicted yourself, especially if you DON'T count a winning record as diddly-dick, yet we had winning records during the previous 15 years before Leach. Idiot.
It was being said on ESPN103.3 in Dallas yesterday that if a deal isn't worked out today, not to be surprised if Tech buys out Leach's contract. And if that happens, that Tech would want to go after Art Briles or Sonny Dykes...
But context is everything Fatty. The last years of the SWC the conference was really weak. The first few years of the Big XII was no big shakes either. TT plays a considerably tougher conference schedule now so I think even if TT had the same winning percentage under Leach it is more impressive. One thing I don't quite understand is the accusation of Leach shopping himself around all the time. Prior to this year I don't recall hearing much of all about Leach being on the market. Does anyone have any examples of Leach shopping himself around all the time?
Context is everything, and we were a winning program before Leach came in. It was a response that we were complete crap prior to Leach, which is simply incorrect. Leach is rumored every year to be a prospect for other Universities. I'm not sure of the validity, but he's always in the rumor bin.
